Reading outside (Issue 1, downtime week 4)

"It's what they expect from you, aye. Theresa Cassidy didn't get away without it either."

[Barbara Chronopolis]

Binary moves along the path, hand laced with her son's. At least, part of the time, it is; Primus is every bit the curious and excitable child and he occasionally squirms free to check out fascinating stones, dropped coins, and miniature mutants. When he spots Tink, his lambent green eyes go even wider than normal.

[Trinity Cleaver]

"This is our lot and fortunately us ladies can rock it our way! Though being mostly a mutant with asthetically pleasing powers I am not much good for the X-teams or super heroedom. I'm much more of a spin-off show for teen girls." Tink smirked.

[Barbara Chronopolis]

"Don't underestimate yourself," Binary chuckles, "You'd be surprised how far creativity and intelligence will take you."

"Mummy, is that a magic faewie or a mutant faewie?"

[Samantha McManus]

"...and the most interesting thing little Primus has seen today."

[Barbara Chronopolis]

"I should make an award for that," she quips to Samantha, "It gets harder to up the ante every day. Tink is a student here, Primus."

"Wike me?!"

"A little older, but yes, like you."

[Trinity Cleaver]

Aww [expletive deleted] christ almighty, I hate kids and this one belongs to Satan.

"I'm a Tink! The best and funnest kind of faery ever!" Tink cheered falsely, her hands on her hips and her best Pan expression on her face as she fluttered up.

"Howdy Hi and whatcha? Thanks for the compliment Ms Chronopolis but I don't imagine that the power of cute can help defeat vampires to easily!"

[Barbara Chronopolis]

"Thankfully, vampires are the in the minority when it comes to the work the X-Teams do. Not that I am pressuring you to join, of course, I just hate to see anyone sell themselves short." She glances down at the little girl, "No pun intended."

Primus giggles and waves to Tink. "Hewwo!" Having grown up around mutants, he has a healthy respect for personal space and body contact, so while his double-thumbed hands are nearly itching, he doesn't reach out for the pixie.

"The lad's got a curious streak a mile long."

[Barbara Chronopolis]

"He probably got that from me. What did you learn in day-care this week?" Primus sighs, then speaks in an almost sing-song recitation, "Desks have lock nuts fow a weason."

[Trinity Cleaver]

Tink gave a chuckle, chiming again much to her chagrain.

"He sounds like a kid I would actually get along with... mischief and curiousity are things the fae are expert with! This fae in particular." Tink enthused.

[Samantha McManus]

"Surprised he doesn't have a tool set all his own yet."

[Barbara Chronopolis]

"He's not supposed to bring his multitool to day care any more, apparently there is some concern about it having a knife," she shrugs, "Better that to learn early than be scared of simple tools."

She grins to Tink, a hint of mischief in her eerie black eyes, "I think he already has enough bad influences, but that might just be my maternal nature speaking."

[Trinity Cleaver]

"I'll have to take your word for it - I never did quite manage to go googoo over kids. But why don't you just get him a nanny or a babysitter or something? Someone who can encourage his creativity a little - not stifle him with rules?" Tink watched Primus with a grin.

[Calvin Strong]

"Please don't tell me you're volunteering," Cal said, smirking, as he walked up from behind where Sam was sitting.

[Barbara Chronopolis]

"The job posting is still up if you want to apply," she smirks to Tink, "Though you may have a hard time with the prerequisites. Good day, Cyber." she adds with a nod of greeting to Calvin.

[Samantha McManus]

"I get the impression Primus could be perfectly dangerous with just a set of metric Allen wrenches."

[Calvin Strong]

"Ma'am," Cal greeted binary in return, although at the mention of Primus and allen wrenches, he subtly held his left arm behind his back.

[Trinity Cleaver]

"Hel..heck no. I am not volunteering! Thats why my boyfriend is a robot - no babies for this fae!" Tink laughed.

"Though maybe you shouldn't discount me so quickly Ms C, I have been involved in the unsavoury part of mutant town enough to know how to look after myself - though if that breaks some school rule, just pretend I never said it?"

[Barbara Chronopolis]

"I'm certainly glad that I do not have much need of paper, after the rubber band, paper clip, and popsicle stick slingshot."

"It was a ca-ta-pult, and it was gonna work!" Primus corrects with a bit of a sulk.

She smiles enigmatically to Tink, "There is no school rule against survival. Quite the opposite, in fact. Just do us all a favour and do not let the police catch you."

[Calvin Strong]

"On that note, thank you for helping me get my wireless feeds tuned to the police scanner frequencies," Cal said with a smirk.

[Trinity Cleaver]

Tink chuckled and gave Cal a wink, flitting over to perch in her usual spot.

"Too speedy for that."

[Barbara Chronopolis]

She nods to Calvin, "The frequency shifts only appear random, once you factor in the Fourier transform, it's crystal clear. They also make for some interesting listening."

[Calvin Strong]

"Yeah, I've been treated to some rather... lengthy lessons on figuring them out in my sleep. My AI says that I can get back to my regularly scheduled nighttime inane fantasies when everything's completely processed."

[Trinity Cleaver]

Tink lowered her voice for Cal only though more out of respect for the fact Primus was nearby than shame.

"And here I was thinking that our adventures kept you company during the lonely nights.."

[Calvin Strong]

"Well, HAL does have a standing rule he has to follow... no messing with my dreams when you're there," Cal admitted, grinning slyly at her.

[Samantha McManus]

"Perhaps Primus is ready to have... albeit severely restricted and with all safeties turned on... Danger Room rights."

[Trinity Cleaver]

"Oh Cal! Why don't you take him? You are so good with kids and Binary knows you - plus she can like read your brain or whatever!" Tink grinned at Cal.

[Calvin Strong]

"How the hell do you get that I'm good with kids?" Cal asked, giving Tink a weird look. "Just because I can get instant how-to stuff on child care from the internet doesn't mean I'm a good babysitter."

[Trinity Cleaver]

"Well I was under the impression that you like little people.."

[Calvin Strong]

"Okay, you bringing a kid into that thought is wrong on so many levels even for you," Cal said, smirking at her.

[Trinity Cleaver]

"I meant kids you dirty perv!" Tink tutted, a frown on her face.

[Barbara Chronopolis]

"Perhaps Primus is ready to have... albeit severely restricted and with all safeties turned on... Danger Room rights."

"I'm not sure that I'm ready for that," she chuckles. "We're still having discussions around the difference between fiction and reality, the line might blur a little too much in there."

[Samantha McManus]

"Hence the restrictions. Give him a workshop of sorts, let him create his catapults in the safety of the Danger Room. You can limit what it can simulate for him."
