Will was in his training uniform, in the danger room, 'sharpening the old saw' as it were.

He was messing with some of the telepathic stuff...

"There are, understandably, quite a lot of safeguards AGAINST having the Danger Room mess with your head," Will smiles. "Makes it hard to build up a defense..."

"I did." Rachel said, her lips narrowing a bit "I can't tell you how much it pisses me off when telepaths do shit like that. And, honestly, it wouldn't be bothering me. I need to get all the practice I can, going after as many kinds of minds as I can."

Sara sat in a chair, in the observation deck above them. She wasn't allowed to go inside..but she could at least keep an eye on what was going on. This was her first time here in the danger room area..and it was quite interesting to look at.

"Well, maybe we can help each other out, then. My brain..when it is a brain at all...is rather flexible; I could try different shapes and compositions and whatnot, and you try to shatter my poor little mind," Will laughed.

Overhearing their conversation she looks at the controls laying out infront of her and finds the intercom button. "I can hear you, you know.." She said angerly.

"So, how do you want to do this? You've got more experience in this arena than I do; I was just thinking of seeing how long I could resist a suggestion or a command or something..."

The doors to the danger room opened, and she walked through. "Fancy stuff we got here." She said with a smirk as she approached them. "If you really want to defend yourself against me, in particular...shouldn't you know..attempt against me?"

"That isn't a bad way to start." Rachel replied "For a start, I'll try to get you to do something and you try to stop me."

"I'm not letting you near my brain again," Will admonished, "and there are more telepaths in the world--the vampires nearly did a number to me, too."

To Rachel, he said, "Alright--are you going to tell me what you're making me do, or will it be a surprise?"

"A surprise is better." Rachel said to Will. Turning to look at Sara she said "Will needs to learn to defend against telepaths in general. There isn't anything that you do that is so interesting that general training won't suffice."

Rachel reached out and gently connected to Will's mind, getting a feel for his thoughts and emotions, and also for the way his body worked. If this worked as well as she hoped, Will wouldn't be able to tell she was there, yet. If Sara had the ability to see astral avatars, she'd see a golden spider, sending tendrils of web to connect with Will's mind.

Will's astral avatar is, well, him--a shapeshifter can look like whatever they want to, after all. There's something...slightly...off about it, though. As compared to 'Real Will', at least. It would probably feel a little different than Rachel, as she's used to, well, humans--Will's body is missing some of the normal physiological systems, or at least has them in rather odd forms, simply because he doesn't know any better.

Will still stood in the center of the room, waiting for Rachel to begin.

Will didn't have any of the normal systems, but he did have a mind, and Rachel went after that, making Will feel cheerful, relaxed and happy. As she did so, she watched his mind, looking for the way he formed the hormones that related to that.

Will smiled--he was gonna do this, finally, get some decent telepathic blocks. Excellent!

At the moment, the hormonal shift would look close to, if not quite precisely, what Rachel was familiar with--maybe lacking some of the complex details, but close enough for government work.

Just to see if she could do it, Rachel nudged Will's brain a bit, pushing it so that the way that he was making hormones was more anatomically correct. Having fun? she asked Sara.

Will drummed his fingers a little bit, waiting.

Rachel was able to 'fix' the hormones without too much effort, switching it to function 'properly', although it had no real effect on Will's feelings...

Rachel noted that the hormones didn't do much, and instead went after Will's emotions, making him even happier. Just for fun, she added a sense of triumph at having thwarted the telepath so far. Yes, going after his mind is like drowning a baby chick. Rachel said to Sara Which doesn't mean its a good thing to do it for fun.

He began to whistle.

Rachel decided to go for a thought, and made Will want to whistle 'Desolation Row'.

Its always fun to test yourself, and to practice with a friend. Rachel replied But no, I'm not getting some sort of sadistic pleasure out of controlling him.

Will's whistling modulated, changed keys and tempo, slowing down.

Will caught his tune changing...and stopped whistling for a second, his brow furrowing a tad.... and stopped whistling for a second, blinking...

Will's pupils went a little out of focus, but the key change, combined with Sara's outburst, had him a little on his guard.

He slipped his hands into his back pockets, concentrating, trying to fight if off---and starts whistling "It's a Small World After All."
