Theodore was sitting at the bar with a glass of beer. It wasn't very good, but he was drinking what ever was cheap and on tap.

"Hello, darling," Victoria sighed as she walked in, looking a bit tired. She gave Zero a kiss on the cheek as she passed by, taking the stool on the far side of him. "Lovely of you to be up this late."

"Isn't that the truth," Victoria said, sounding somewhat amused as she nodded to the bartender (Mack? Mac? She really didn't care enough to keep the booze-peddlers straight in her mind) when he indicated her alcohol of choice. "Sorry if I've been evasive lately, dear... I haven't been trying to be insufferable."

Zero stroke Victoria's cheek gently, smiling sweetly.

"Alone would be a very good thing... but alcohol first seems a rather attractive prospect," she said, pressing her cheek into the touch so she could feel it a bit better.

"Something's happened to me... is happening to me... something like that, and I don't like it," she said, without further preamble.

"Mmm... I could do with some diversion, that's for certain," Victoria said, smiling. "Has work been treating you decently? They can't have been happy about you missing those days," she said, as always with a tone that implied she'd buy the bastards out and fire the lot of them if they'd been giving Zero a hard time.

Theodore winced a bit when Zero winked at him, still not sure what to make of him. He just tried to not to pay her any attention. Now the albino chick that sat down next to Zero, she was both hot and definitely female, but he wasn't about to intrude in their conversation so he just stayed at his end of the bar drank his beer.
