Auxiliary Team Insertion Point - Genosha Memorial Park

[Narrator]

The truck's driver tries to swerve as the blast comes in, but it hits far too close for him to succeed. The truck crunches down into the ditch, and almost at the same time Genbu heaves the back end up.

The truck is HEAVY, so John isn't able to lift it high, but he pushes it up enough that the back end loses all traction, and that is the end of that. The ditch is deep enough that when John puts the truck back down, it's still not going anywhere now that the momentum is gone.

The truck does not instantly disgorge armed men, as the driver and whatever other men may or may not be present decide what to do.



Meanwhile, something of a crowd of local mutants has gathered, mostly adults as they keep shooing the kids away. They cheer as the truck is stopped from hitting the memorial, and begin to shout encouragement to the X-Team.

[John Hino]

John steps back.

"Any chance this back door is rigged?"

[Marcus Kingston]

He watched the others carefully and stayed on guard just in case they needed some sort of extra help. He was happy to see Will was handling his situation.

[Will Stanton]

"Be CAREFUL with that truck--we have no idea what's inside"

[Constantine McGraw]

"Door yes, roof likely not. Feel like playing can-opener?" Con replied to Genbu.

[Narrator]

By this point, the driver has decided what he's going to do, he hops out of the truck with the two other men that were up front with him, and brandishes a gun. He hasn't fired, yet.

"All you muties stay back or I'll start puttin holes in ya!"

[John Hino]

Genbu grins at the gunman.

"Really now?"

[Nina Madaraki]

"I'd advise you put down the weapon, sir," Nina says, "We don't want any trouble."

[Narrator]

"Well you've GOT some trouble, 'avent you?"

[Constantine McGraw]

"Now that's definately breaking the law." Con said out loud, although it was unlikely anyone with hear him in his aerial position.

"Lumis, we have one imobilised van, contents unknown. Wait for the bomb squad or take further action ourselves?"

Whilst Con was quite happy to send Genbu in through the roof, or forcibly interogate prisoners if neccessary, he wanted to be clear on his jurisdiction first.

"Trauma Pack, can you do explosive sniffers?"

[Domanic Taylor]

"Binary has just confirmed no electronic detonator of any kind in the truck itself, so it can't be blown by remote. Watch for a possible sniper detonation of the truck, and otherwise don't endanger it with blasts or the like. It should be safe enough to open the truck, though you may not want to do it via the doors in case there is a mechanical rig up for the bomb."

[John Hino]

Genbu makes a slow step towards the gunman.

"I suggest you put the gun down before you get hurt."

[Will Stanton]

"You don't REALLY want to start a fight on a day like this, do you?"

[Constantine McGraw]

"Already planning on entry through the roof." Con radioed back, using his aerial vantage point to look for the suggested sniper.

[Nina Madaraki]

"Trauma Pack, can you do explosive sniffers?"

"I can do anything," Nina says in a sing-song tone, "It'll take a few minutes though."

[Narrator]

The gunman points his weapon at Genbu. "You stay back, freak! I'll pop ya one!"

[Constantine McGraw]

"Let me know when you're ready. Genbu, if he doesn't drop it, take that idiot down. Shaman, cover the other two."

[John Hino]

"Now that isn't nice. I haven't called you a name," he said as he got even closer.

"You really don't want to shoot me."

[Will Stanton]

The gunman points his weapon at Genbu. "You stay back, freak! I'll pop ya one!"

"Once ya pop, the fun don't stop."

[Marcus Kingston]

Despite the situation, Marcus chuckled softly at Will's joke. He shook his head.

"Why oh why.."

[Narrator]

The leader thug that's penned in with the others by William suddenly yells. "OI! We got the signal, take em boys!"

The men behind Will's fence rush him, beating him viciously with pipes and chains, stabbing at him with knives.

The gunman staring John down grins broadly, and opens up, firing rapidly in John's general direction. Most of the shots at this range will hit.

[John Hino]

The bullets hit John in the chest, pierce the uniform, then... stopped. He charged forward as his shadowy skin pushed the bullets out. He grabbed the gun by the barrel and bent it.

"Wrong move asshole," he smirked, voice rumbling.

[Narrator]

The gunman lets go of the gun in horror, and stumbles back, grabbing for a knife.

[Nina Madaraki]

The two probes Nina sent out earlier suddenly jumped into the fray, leaping towards two separate thugs and attempting to land on them and inject them with stingers that'd deliver a powerful sedative.

Meanwhile, Nina was closing her eyes, concentrating on creating a probe that'd be able to detect explosives.

[John Hino]

The gunman lets go of the gun in horror, and stumbles back, grabbing for a knife.

John spun around in an effort to tail whip his foe to the ground.

[Constantine McGraw]

Figuring that telling the team they were free to retaliate was unnecessary, Con concentrated on checking for further arrivals or runners.

Figuring that Genbu and Shaman would likely have few problems with the 3 by the van, he positioned himself nearer the other group, sending another blast of energy at the ringleader there.

[Narrator]

The gunman goes down when John whips him, a nasty sounding crack sounds out when the tail hits his leg.

The two toughs that Nina sent probes at didn't even see them coming, as they leapt at John and beat him desperately with a pair of pipes. The spiders cling to a leg on each man, and begin administering the drug.



Meanwhile, William is in danger of going down under a mob of angry thugs. Constantine's blast hits the leader in the chest, knocking him back and down, yet another gun spinning out of the man's hand. He was trying to draw it just as he was hit.

[John Hino]

John grabbed the pipes and did not let go.

[Narrator]

The thugs attacking Genbu let go of the pipes, and try to run, but they begin to stumble, sway, and then hit the turf.

[John Hino]

John looked down to the forger gunman and growled, "Do yourself a favor and stay down."

He then used his claws to climb atop the truck.

"Someone needed a can opener?"

[Will Stanton]

The thugs were denting Will a decent amount of nicks and scrapes, but all attacking a metal fence with a pipe is bound to do is annoy the fence, should such a thing be possible. It IS, however, keeping him from shifting to a more vulnerable form, so he's kinda stuck at the moment.

"Eight on one? That don't exactly seem fair. Perhaps we should even the odds a bit?"

At this, spikes begin coming out of the wall, in towards the encircled goons. "After all, if you guys get knives..."

I can't keep this up all day, however...

[Narrator]

Unfortunently for Will, the thugs just step back and keep swinging with renewed vigor, out of range for the moment of the growing spikes.

Will's going to need a bit of help.

[Nina Madaraki]

Nina put the finishing touches on the new probe and directed it to make it's way to the truck as quickly as possible and determine where the explosives were.

[Narrator]

Nina's spider is able to quickly detect the presence of a substance. A copious amount of gasoline. Highly explosive when under pressure.

[Marcus Kingston]

He couldn't do anything on the other side of the wall since Will had them surrounded.

"Will? You okay?" He asked, hearing all scruffling going on inside.

[Nina Madaraki]

"Looks like it's a load of gasoline in the truck," Nina says, "I'll try to figure out where exactly it is."

Nina does her best to pinpoint exactly where the highest concentration of the substance is inside the truck.

[Narrator]

Nina detects way too much gasoline for it to be anything but simply full of containers of it. Probably barrels, certainly in some containers, the truck would be leaking profusely if the gas had just been poured in.

[Will Stanton]

"I'm getting a little banged up, and changing forms is difficult with them beating on me like this. I don't have the mass to just collapse on top of 'em. Little help?"

[Constantine McGraw]

Con radioded through Nina's findings to Lumis, as he kept an eye on the situation. He was unwilling to risk another blast without a clear opening and minimal chance of hitting Will.

[Domanic Taylor]

Lumis responds, "Go ahead and open the truck if you want, but prioritize helping your teammates. Gwion is getting pounded."
