Sept 26th - Armoury

[Jayda Nightridge]

Jayda had been in the armoury for a little while, she had poured over the available equipment and dug through the racks of body armour that she thought would fit the girls. Now she sat on a table, an array of items behind her and in her hands she held a M249 Automatic, appraising it with a cool eye, her hands running lovingly over it.

[Kaylee Williams]

Kaylee ended up a little side-tracked and decided to hit the armory first after all.

"Hey Jayda! Thought I'd come here first." She walked over beside her and looked around at all the 'goodies'. "Time to make me look pretty?"

[Jayda Nightridge]

Jayda grinned at Kaylee.

"Something like that, though you are pretty cute without all this stuff, you'll just be slightly more stab proof." Jayda slid off the table, gun still in her hand though it was trailed at the ground.

[Kaylee Williams]

"Stab proof is good. So body armor? Um, I'm not gonna look like some riot squad member right?" She asked, not really sure how any of that stuff fitted. "Or is it a bit more like bullet proof vest?"

[Jayda Nightridge]

Jayda laughed.

"You still need to be able to move fluidly, plus we don't want to inhibit your ability at all. Its gotten to the point now where body armour is lighter but more resistant." Jayda pulled a vest from off of the table.

"And a few years ago someone finally realised that girls have lumpy bits that don't fit behind an ironing board."

[Kaylee Williams]

"I reaaally don't know anything about this stuff. Sorry." She said while moving closer to get a good look at the vest. "True about it hindering my ability. I could still use it even if I was fully covered up but I'd be way slower on the draw."

She giggled. "Took them long enough. I really didn't want to go out there with something looking like a trash can lid attached to me like I see those samurai gals in some movies."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"So just what do we need to leave uncovered here?" Jayda asked with a raised eyebrow.

[Kaylee Williams]

"My arms and hands are fine enough." She lifted up her right arm, deciding to give a small demonstration. She held it up and suddenly a black ooze, mixed in with blotches of various colors crept out from under her sleeve and started to engulf her arm.

[Jayda Nightridge]

Jayda took a wary step backwards throwing her hands into the air.

"Whoa whoa, I read all about the theory on your power.. please keep that away from me!" She laughed.

"So hands and arms clear.. got it."

[Kaylee Williams]

She rolled her eyes playfully. "Oh. I'm not going to hurt you...Jjaaayydddaa.." She said in a creepy voice before the ooze like substance seemed to skitter back into her sleeve.

She blinked. "Theory on my power?"

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Okay so we keep your arms and hands free in exchange for the fact you don't spread funky primordial ooze all over me?" Jayda laughed. Picking up a vest she thought would fit Kaylee she moved towards the girl.

"Hands up in the air." Once they were Jayda would slip the vest over her head and begin the process of doing it up.

[Kaylee Williams]

Kaylee did as instructed and watched as Jayda fastened the vest up.

"I really hope you're just teasing Jayda. I wouldn't up and hurt you for no reason.." The volume of her voice was just above being a whisper.

[Jayda Nightridge]

Jayda lowered her voice mock secretively and leaned in close to Kaylee.

"I know you wouldn't Kaylee but we have to let everyone think you are a total badass. Keep them on their toes, yeah?" Jayda winked then stepped back from the girl.

"There now move a little, you got enough freedom?"

[Kaylee Williams]

"What!? They don't know that already? I see." She said, her mood perking up slightly. Jayda's initial reaction still managing to chip away at some memories she had. The instant worrying was something people did often when hearing of her power.

She rolled her arms around and twisted and turn. "Yeah. It fits okay."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"How about the weight? Its going to feel heavy for a while until you get used to it but it definitely shouldn't make you feel like you are in hyper gravity or something." Jayda grinned.

"Are you immune to illnesses Kaylee?"

[Kaylee Williams]

She felt the difference but it didn't feel like it'd hinder her much. She hopped around rather energeticly, trying to get a feel for it.

"Yep. I can make others immune to them too. I haven't been sick once since my mutation. I think my body just feasts on them all like candy."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"That's pretty gnarly, I can't imagine what that must be like. A drawback of my power is that if I get sick or hurt I go down real hard for a long time." Jayda said enviously.

"Though I guess you don't really get to call a sick day right?"

[Kaylee Williams]

"Which sucks big time. I mean, I need to be able to call out of work for a new movie or just because I feel like skipping." She mused even though that wasn't like her at all.

"If you ever are sick, let me know and I'll fix that real quick. What's your power again Jayda?"

[Jayda Nightridge]

"I can port between shadows instantaneously and I'm not so good at staying dead." Jayda said with a shrug though she grinned at Kaylee's offer.

"Thanks that's real nice of you. I will be sure not to abuse the offer."

[Kaylee Williams]

"Hm. I don't think anyone if they had the chance would want to be good at staying dead. At least, depending on how emotastic they were."

She shook her head. "Abuse the offer all you want. I spent a long time trying to work on the more useful aspects of my power that didn't invovle harming people."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"How do you train for something like that?" Jayda sat up on the table, setting aside the SAW and picking up a pair of cuffs, nonchalantly spinning them.

[Kaylee Williams]

"It wasn't so much training as it was work. I worked in a facility where the daily goal was to see how many illnesses and diseases I could break and cure people of."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"On people and stuff? Top secret Military compound style?"

[Kaylee Williams]

"Maaybbee. I can't really say much on it."

She leaned back against the table, setting her hands over the top. She looked at all the different weapons there carefully as they passed the time.

"So, we can't take guns because we're not cleared. Anything else we could probably take that wouldn't require some practice course?"

[Jayda Nightridge]

Jayda let it go, she understood need to know and clearance levels. She turned so that she was sideways facing Kaylee and looked over the table, then around the armory.

"That.. that is a good question." She smiled as her eyes alighted on some items.

[Kaylee Williams]

Kaylee looked around then absentmindedly pointed at what looked like a rocket launcher.

"Yep. I sssoo want that."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"That. That you totally can't have, you are under qualified to even be looking at." Jayda laughed.

"You are maybe allowed to have a bat or a knuckle duster.. a knife. I can show you how to use a knife."

[Kaylee Williams]

Her head lowered and she pouted. "Aw. Saddness." She giggled then thought about the options Jayda suggested.

"What's a knuckle duster?" she asked, never hearing of one before. "A knife could be a really good idea. If someone has an open wound around me, they just got screwed with something hard and sandpapery."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Knives it is!" Jayda grinned and slipped off the table returning a moment later with a simple blade and sheath.

"Standard boot blade but with this sheath and belt you can carry it anywhere, thigh, waist, arm - whereever. I recommend that you wear it around your waist until you are used to pulling a knife."

Jayda showed Kaylee how to fit it around her waist, adjusting its position so that it was easy to draw and was comfortable.

[Kaylee Williams]

"Yeah. I'd rather keep it around my waist anyway especially once we get all in uniform."

She waited for Jayda to finish and once she was she turned herself around to take a good look at it. She turned away from Jayda and whipped out the knife quite dexterously.

"Bitch, I'll cut you!" She said as she jabbed the knife at the open air. She brought the knife back and just looked it over.

[Jayda Nightridge]

Jayda laughed hard.

"I would really like to see you try thats for sure." She chuckled.

"Adjust your grip like this.." Reaching out Jayda took Kaylee's hand and shifted it slightly, then manipulated her wrist so that is was stronger.

"The more strength in your wrist the better your chances."

[Kaylee Williams]

"Oh. I didn't mean you. I just meant in a general sort of way...like those girls on daytime TV pissed off at the girl that their boyfriend cheated on them with when they SHOULD be trying to shank the boyfriend."

Once her wrist was in a better position she held it there, getting used to it. She nodded at Jayda and listened carefully.

"Is the wrist stength based on the attacking? Like, is this better for stabbing or slashing?"

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Yeah this is definitely a stabbing grip, when your arm is relaxed by your side and the blade is pointing behind you thats an overhand stab. If you adjust the knife so that the blade is pointing forward its more of a jab."

[Kaylee Williams]

Kaylee flipped the knife around in her hand, holding it in the reversed position. She held it up and turned to the side. She flung out her arm, sort of in a backhand motion. As the blade reached it's 'implied target', that black slime seeped out and engulfed her hand and the blade. She brought her arm back as the slime subsided.

"Hm. Okay! Show me some more ways how to rough people up! Or is it as simple as this?"

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Well you need to get in close so that you can stab someone, it would pay to know a few blocking moves in case they have knives. Also you should be sure before you attempt to stab or cut someone.. if you hesitate you lose."

[Merle McClintock]

Merle deftly avoids the girl's conversations, grabbing only a few shotputs and considering something above a side pistol.

He'd look really dumb if he was the only one there with a gun. But a bunch of knives would be fun. The shotputs would probably cause a lot of structural damage, the knives wouldn't.

"Oh, hey, girls, just looking for something to take advantage of the old superhuman strength!"

Hahaha awkward. Great one, Merle!

[Kaylee Williams]

Kaylee gave a nod. "How does one block with a knife anyway? And can I only block other knives or is it okay for defending against other weapons?" Kaylee wanted the low down on just about how everything worked. Sadly, she'd probably still have some hesitation pulling most things off but it was to know then not.

Kaylee gave a double take at Merle. When did he come in here? She wondered before giving the large guy a smile. "Hey there." She said with some flirtation in her tone as she looked him over.

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Superhuman strength, eh?" Jayda chuckled and watched him picking up shot puts, her eyebrow raising slightly when Kaylee gave him a flirtatious smile. She stopped herself from shuddering through will power alone and swallowed the retort rising in her throat.

"What's your licensing level there big fella? You could go for a re-enforced shanghai to help you get some distance on those mini cannonballs.. "
