Common Room: Who's afraid of a big bad wolf?

Up until recently maintained as a museum, the childhood home of the Braddock family has been pressed into service as additional housing and classroom space for the Institute. Additionally, the increased demands have led to the main ballroom being converted into a cafeteria for both the Institute and those University students on a meal plan. Student reactions have been mixed, and reports of paranormal activity are as of yet unsubstantiated.

Vertie nodded and finally 'opened' her self to the older girl. The warm bath returned over Stephanie, but it slowly became more. As Vertie looked Stephanie's wolf in the eyes the spread of emotion took over slowly. Vertie was invoking the earliest emotional memories within the wolf. Stephanie was the pup now, Vertie was offering herself as 'mother' and 'den'. Vertie was 'home'. Safety, security, acceptance, belonging, warmth, comfort, calm...home.

Steph's wolf sat calmly and regarded Vertie almost like a big dog, tail wagging slightly. It made no moves towards her. She would get a sense of frustration from the wolf, who seemed eager to be out and in control over Stephanie, but that wasn't anything unusual all that unusual for a feral shifter. The wolf cocked her head, as if to ask Vertie what she wanted.

"You're fine." She said to the wolf. "Just getting a good look at you, seeing how best you'll fit into this mess we're calling a pack." She smiled at Stephanie and pulled her power back. "You'll be fine...I hope. People wolves are different and don't always follow wolf rules. I guess we wing it."

"Ought to be interesting at least," she smirked. "Want to meet everyone else?"

"Lead the way." She stood and stretched.
