She managed another smile, as she sniffed again.

"A pop. I didn't feel anything, but the next day, my elbow was stiff and swollen. The doctor said I had a partial ligament tear. The healer went at it , and the glowy hands thing over my elbow, and fixed it.,mostly. My arm still hurts a few times a week."

She reaches into her pocket, and pulls out a prescription bottle containing a very potent pain reliever.

"They gave me these for when it gets distracting."

Bear smiled.

"A knuckleball, yes. And I might need to start throwing them more often. And develop new things in the workshop, and continue training my TK and visual abilities to keep being effective."

She gave a serene look.

"But I've made peace with myself that I'm probably not going to be on the x-men as long as a lot of other members."

"..and that's.. Why I snapped with Winn. I wanted to give more to the younger kids, take more of a mentor role. It's why I showed the new kids how to use the danger room to develop their powers, including Winn. I thought I got through to her, I thought I saw something in her."

Bear sighed again.

"But I was wrong. The first crossroad she gets to with a development with her powers, and she opts to take a bat to John's limo. I didn't make a difference at all."

Bear looked off to the horizon, running over the events leading up to this.

"I.. I know. I've been not giving up ever since I developed my powers. It just, I don't know. This was the first time since I had the injury, I guess. It just all came together in an ugly scene."
