Nina was in the Danger Room. The program was a large swamp and Nina was sitting on a rock. Her probes were infesting the area around her. Some of them reaching up to 25 meters away from her body and she was pushing herself to extend that range as far as she could.

"Cool. Just let me get suited up. Even the illusion of swampy clothes is something I'd rather avoid."

After a few moments, John came swimming up to Nina's island and rose out of the water. It was all very crocodilian.

He climbed out.

"It just seemed appropriate to the environment. That's my line and I'm sticking to it," he smirked.

"Well, now I simply feel under-dressed," Nina says.

She smiles and her skin changes into a light green color. He skin shifts into scales and her eyes become more reptilian.

"There we are. Not nearly as thorough or impressive as your own mutation, but at least we match now," Nina says happily.

"I was studying atavism," Nina explains. "It's limited and mostly visual at the moment but I have been able to replicate some complex cellular structures. Gills, sensory organs, that sort of thing."

"No tail yet," Nina says. She sounds disappointed. "But I am working on it!"
