Room 234 - Marcus and Rick

[Marcus Kingston]

"You're welcome. I have a feeling he's probably pretty good. Besides, I wanna see what my power does to his lightsabers." He smirked.

"Ah yeah. Paired up or even reshuffled." Marcus said, thinking about the debreifing yesterday.

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Reshuffled.." Jayda's train of thought followed Marcus's.

"I like you guys, we can get this sorted surely."

[Marcus Kingston]

"Yeah. Con's not a bad leader. He'd lead me twice on other teams. You can normally trust his decisions and we did both successfully though the team makes up were different. Well, Me, him and Bear were on the DR simulation so I figured she'd know that too.."

He shrugged. "I don't know. I just don't like all the fighting. Seems like everything just wants to be draining lately."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"I really don't have a problem with Con as leader, to be honest. He just seems to press some button for me that makes me want to punch him. Its kinda weird." Oh yeah, that and you let him kill you for kicks... Jayda shrugs.

"I don't think taking the team out of commission is the best way for us to learn though."

[Marcus Kingston]

He laughed. "I can see that in a way. Just seems like he's cautious though..added with a little of liking to be right."

He thought about that. "Yeah. That was a pretty big thing to say. I mean, we have enough time in the rotation to probably not be called on in awhile anyhow. We'd probably have things together before next mission."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Leadership is about commanding respect, its hard to respect someone whose tone is constantly condescending whether they mean it or not. As for the rotation, if Jubilee thinks we shouldn't be on it then she would take us off. More likely they give us the shitty assignments till we sort our crap out."

[Marcus Kingston]

He couldn't argue against Jayda. He agreed to what she said. "Thing is, that's a personality quirk of his if anything. Which he may not even, hell, probably finds no reason to change. I mean, I know you guys say you'd follow him..but it seems more like you'll both do it because you'd have to and less because you really want to. I don't think that'll ever sit right."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"I can't say you are wrong Marcus but first and foremost you need to remember that I am a soldier. I follow orders and make them work. If they don't make sense or I disagree I am more than likely going to bring it up not in the heat of battle." Jayda shrugged.

"Can't say I wouldn't disobey an order at all though. Especially if they make me leave a team mate in danger..."

[Marcus Kingston]

"Okay, well, then I guess we're good on the matter then. We just need to have our training and see how it goes. Oh, and how Con thinks it went." He said playfully, not really seeing them having a issue. "Hell, Me, Bear, Con and Harold took down a freaking space ship with our powers." He thought about that. "I can't think much else would get all that harder.."

"Anyway, it's good to know everyone's ready to give it a try."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"What if I don't? You going to try and take me, big fella?" Jayda laughed teasingly.

"Space ship.. that sounds pretty fun."

[Marcus Kingston]

"Ha. No way Jayda. I wouldn't dare it."

He laughed. "Yeah. I had no idea the simulation was going to be a Skrull attack. Pretty sweet though."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Hey we should, it might be fun. Need something to take the edge off occasionally." Jayda laughed, she ran a hand through her hair and shrugged.

"Thought Rick said something about it.. maybe it was someone else."

[Marcus Kingston]

"I dunno. Either way, I agree it'll be a blast." Time seemed to be going along faster than he expected. "Okay. I should get to class. I'll talk to you later? Have fun on your date."

[Jayda Nightridge]

"Marcus, thanks. I know I am kinda a bit.. not normal sometimes but I appreciate someone that will talk to me about the stuff I don't understand. It can be hard to assimilate into this culture."

[Marcus Kingston]

"Oh. You're normal enough. I mean..not everyone is super social or into getting to know everyone. A lot of normal people just keep to themselves too. You shouldn't feel all that worried about it."

[Rick Ferguson]

((Sept. 24, afternoon))

Rick was relaxing after classes, laying on his bed as he held up his phone, inputting some schedule items and sending out a few text messages.

[Marcus Kingston]

Marcus walked in, groaning some as he rubbed the back of his head. Today was such a rough day. He wondered if he should of just skipped the training but he managed just fine now that he had something treating the burns. He smiled at Rick.

"Hey you."

[Rick Ferguson]

"Hey there. What's up?," he asked, not looking at Marcus (or any of his burns) just yet, still typing out the last bit of an online update to his XU student page.

[Marcus Kingston]

"Not much. I can't in a brawl in the showers earlier today." He said while moving over to his bed. He climbed on top of it and took a seat, reaching over to grab his laptop and slide it into his lap.

[Rick Ferguson]

"...Wha-? What happened?," he asked, closing his phone and moving to sit upright.

[Marcus Kingston]

"I was keeping a lookout for Kelly all day since he's been going through shit. I walked into this guy that was threatening Kelly. I told the guy that I'm not gonna let him do anything to harm Kelly. Calvin was in there too. Anyway, the guy..Winston's his name. Told me that this was between him and Kelly and that me and Calvin should just piss off. So he took a swing at him. Kelly attacked him back then the guy like..exploded or something. Scared the shit out of me..I thought Kelly ended up really hurt. So I just lost it and completely wrecked the shower room."

[Rick Ferguson]

"Good Lord! You didn't get hurt or anything, did you?," he asked as he stood up, in case he needed to examine Marcus a bit more closely.

[Marcus Kingston]

"Just when I thought the guy may of been civil and I apologized he said me and Kelly were still going to get our asses handed to us and made some huge explosion. I shifted to protect Kelly and shielded the blast. It burnt my back up some but whatever they did to it helped a ton. It just stings a lot but nothing too bad, anymore at least. Hardly wanted to move earlier."

[Rick Ferguson]

"What did you say this guy's name was? Winston?"

[Marcus Kingston]

"Winston Sharpe I think." He said with a shrug. "Why?"

[Rick Ferguson]

"I'm gonna go find him and kick his ass," he said with a surprising degree of calm, actually heading for the door.

[Marcus Kingston]

"Wait! Wait a sec.." He said, scrambling off of the bed then jogging after Rick. He broke into a hop when his back started bothering him, hissing a little at the pain. He reached out to grab Rick's arm. "That wouldn't be good. Lumis just let me off the hook...about that whole thing."

[Rick Ferguson]

"Let you off the hook? But he was the one who threatened you guys, right?"

[Marcus Kingston]

"Not so much me. Kelly mainly. Anyway, I guess off the hook more so for completely destroying the shower room. You should take a look. I really did make a mess...which I'll be having to help fix up for awhile." He said with a sigh.

[Rick Ferguson]

"Oh, man...is the whole place totally unusable now or something? Ugh. Tell me Winston or whatever's being punished too, somehow."

[Marcus Kingston]

"It's pretty wrecked and I don't know. I didn't ask. I really thought we'd all just get in trouble for some general fighting anyhow but I'm not sure what Lumis will do about it." He shrugged. "Maybe he'll just get a slap on the wrist too."

[Rick Ferguson]

"He needs worse than that. And he'll git it. I'll see to it."

[Marcus Kingston]

"I don't think Lumis really wants to see you in his office next. In the idea of being good about this, don't go after him Rick. Though to be honest, I'd prefer nothing else but crushing him under something. Seriously, I really really do.." He said while stepping his closer, wrapping his arms around Rick in a tight hug.

[Rick Ferguson]

Rick sighed a bit, finally giving in and hugging Marcus back. "This doesn't change what I'm going to do, no matter how sweet you are. Just so you know."

[Marcus Kingston]

"Ouch.." He winced a little when Rick returned the hug. He grinned up at him. "Maybe I just wanted a hug?" He asked playfully.

[Rick Ferguson]

"Okay, okay. So just how bad did he hurt you, anyway?," he questioned as he withdrew his arms.

[Marcus Kingston]

"I grew giant so not very much. That did mean I got hit with more of the blast though. Like I said, some burns that should heal up soon."

[Rick Ferguson]

"Well, then, um, is there anything that I can get for you, love? Icepacks, cold washcloth...? You name it."

[Marcus Kingston]

"Hmm.." He smiled rather evilly. "No. Not that I can think of other than..not beating the shit out of Winston?" He set his forehead against Rick's shoulder. "That is, at least till we're done out vacation whenever it's planned. I was worried Lumis would put me on some sort of campus arrest or something and we'd miss out on going."

[Rick Ferguson]

"Campus arrest? That may still happen yet. Still, do you need anything?," he asked in a lower tone, almost a whisper.
