She stood up and stretched her wings a bit. Where the feathers caught the light, they exhibited the blue-purple iridescence of raven feathers. "Well, at least they're not bat wings, I suppose."

"Try folding them in a little more so they lie flush against your back. Here, let me help..." she says, carefully pushing Miranda's wings in so the top-most join is just standing out above her shoulder with the rest of the folded wing pressed against her back. "See if you can keep them like this."

"If you feel them getting too tight just go ahead and let them spread wide, don't worry about knocking things down. They're unfamiliar muscles and the last thing you want is a cramp."
