Kay ends up buying a discounted block of drawing paper that's a little banged up on one corner.

"I didn't think you were doing it or anything..." she awkwardly says after following Miranda outside.

Kay just quietly walks alongside Miranda for a while.

"Do you wanna get some hot chocolate?" she eventually manages after rolling the sentence around in her head a couple dozen times.

"And now they don't anymore. It's just... I don't even feel that ugly anymore..." she says, though the layer of make-up she has on somewhat undermines that statement. "It just feels like people hate me more than other mutants 'cause they always notice. It just feels unfair, is all."

Miranda regarded her quietly for a long moment as she sipped at her drink. Apparently deciding it was better to change the subject, she asked, "So what movie are we watching tonight?"

Kay looks relieved. "Oh! I got a couple for you to chose from. Hunger Games if you wanna see a cool action movie or Ghostbusters, which is a really funny movie about, well, hunting ghosts. Or Mean Girls, which is a highschool comedy and I think what Brigid watched a bunch to prepare for coming to school here." she chuckles.
