I13DT - There Are Some Things You Should Know

"We talked to two. We had to rescue the third."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Rescued?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Black Air's less than gentle treatment of your memory had the archivist trapped."

[Samantha McManus]

"As we'd mentioned, they seemed to want you to always have memory problems."

[Miranda Weaver]

Miranda made a thoughtful noise. "I'll have to talk to her sometime. See what she 'knows'. I do have one question that I just thought of and it may be kind of important. Do the two of you want me to keep this quiet? I mean, it's not like I'll go telling everyone, but I don't know if you want me to keep things quiet until you have a better handle on what to tell people."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'm not one to worry too much about how things might sound to other people, so I won't ask you to keep this a secret if you don't want to. But if you worry what your classmates might think I won't blame you for not shouting it from the rooftops either. Sooner or later people probably will find out though."

[Samantha McManus]

"Aye. If you want to tell people we're both behind you."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I'll probably be picky for a bit. Some of my classmates already think I'm a teacher's pet."

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah sighs and faintly shakes her head. "I'm sorry about that."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Mom," she said, grabbing Nailah's hands again. "It's fine. And you can't be responsible for what they think."

[Nailah Weaver]

"You're taking this better than I would have as a kid." she chuckles.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Teacher's pet is probably one of the less problematic things people have thought about me."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Well, if anybody is giving you trouble let us know, instead of hitting them with a cafeteria tray, okay?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"I'll try to remember that."

[Samantha McManus]

"Can't promise special treatment, but... we'll get involved like parents do."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I don't expect special treatment, but involvement is good."

[Nailah Weaver]

"And please let us know if you need anything. We should probably take you shopping for a couple things at some point."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I can't think of anything immediate, though I had to throw away my red sweatshirt. It was kind of covered in gunk."
