Sept. 23 - XUB 1 (evening)

[Michael Asters]

"There's someone for everyone, after all."

[Jubilation Lee]

"So they tell me." Jubliee said lightly.

[Michael Asters]

"Here's to doubting feel-good sayings," Cass said dryly, taking a drink.

[Jubilation Lee]

"I'm in my mid-thirties and single. I'm supposed to be bitter." Jubilee teased.

[Michael Asters]

Cassiel rolled his eyes. "And I'm in my mid-thirties in single. I'm supposed to be 'enjoying the bachelor life' or some garbage like that."

[Jubilation Lee]

"Yeah, but you're a dude." Jubilee replied "Damn double standards."

[Michael Asters]

"Trade for a bit, then? You shamelessly enjoy meaningless hook-ups, and I pretend to be bitter about my inability to find commitment?"

[Jubilation Lee]

Jubilee laughed "I'd take you up on that, but I'm waaay past the age where casual sex is fun." she paused and thought for a moment "Actually, even when I was at that age, I didn't really get the appeal."

[Michael Asters]

Cassiel nodded. "I'm with you there. Blame the powerset, telepathy takes all the fun out of it."

[Jubilation Lee]

Jubilee snorted "I can think of a few teeps who seem not to have gotten that memo."

[Michael Asters]

"Yes, well, most of them aren't specifically keyed in to people's emotions. That might explain it."

[Jubilation Lee]

"It would. So, it isn't any fun unless the girl is into you?"

[Michael Asters]

"Mmmm... more or less. At least at the moment. She doesn't have to be head over heels besotted with me or anything like that."

[Jubilation Lee]

"Fair enough."

[Michael Asters]

"Nothing kills the mood like picking up their random wish that they were with some person that they are crushing on," Cassiel chuckled.

[Jubilation Lee]

"I'd imagine so. Or noticing that they are thinking 'Beige. I really should paint the ceiling beige.' at in inappropriate moment."

[Michael Asters]

Cassiel laughed. "I'll have you know that I've never had that problem."

[Jubilation Lee]

"Good to know." Jubilee replied, taking a sip of her beer.

[Michael Asters]

"The skeptical tone of your voice threatens to force me to defend my reputation," Cassiel, chuckled, taking another pull from his beer.

[Jubilation Lee]

"Oh? In that case, I totally doubt that statement." Jubilee said with a little wink.

[Michael Asters]

Mike chuckled. "Be careful where you lay your challenges," he said, winking back at her.

[Jubilation Lee]

"I'm very good at picking where I put my challenges." Jubilee replied "It goes with being part of the X-men."

[Michael Asters]

"And also part of being an X-Man, I don't back down from challenges I'm sure I'm equal to," Mike retorted, eyeing her slyly.

[Jubilation Lee]

"Do I need to double dog dare you?" Jubilee asked, amused.

[Michael Asters]

"After I've already said that I'm accepting the challenge? Of course not. Who's place is closer?"

[Jubilation Lee]

"You tell me." Jubilee replied, concentrating on the location of her apartment so that Cassiel would be able to pick up on the thought.

[Michael Asters]

"And the winner would be my place," he said, pulling some cash out of his wallet and sending it floating over to the bar.

[Jubilation Lee]

"Works for me." Jubilee said, getting up "Walk or fly?"

[Michael Asters]

"If you've got it, flaunt it," Cassi said, downing the rest of his beer and standing up.

[Jubilation Lee]

"Good point." Jubilee said, manifesting a glowing disk under her feet.

[Michael Asters]

The side door opened as Cassiel floated next to her. "Ladies first," he said.

"Of course." Jubilee said, floating gracefully out the door.
