I13DT - The Cafeteria Brawl Post-game Show

[Miranda Weaver]

"Thanks. Hopefully one of these days I'll figure out how I know how to do this." She took her book back and started sketching Kay while she ate.

[Kay Haddock]

"Whatcha drawing?" she asks, standing up slightly in her seat and stretching her neck to sneak a peek.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Something in this world for once."

[Kay Haddock]

"Oh, cool." she smiles, sitting back down to continue eating. She understands Miranda not wanting to show a work in progress.

"Oh! Have you had pizza yet?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"Yeah, Mr. Sackville bought me some. It was pretty good. It wasn't ice cream, but it was pretty good."

[Kay Haddock]

"Aww, okay, I'll think of something else to go with the movie then. How about chips?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"What about popcorn? It's the traditional thing or so I've read."

[Kay Haddock]

"Yes! Doy. I'll make us some. No salt though, salted popcorn is awful."

[Miranda Weaver]

"If you say so," she said, looking up briefly before going back to her drawing.

[Kay Haddock]

"Well I guess some people like it... You should probably make up your own mind then."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Why don't you like it?"

[Kay Haddock]

"I dunno. It just tastes weird."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Interesting. I really like sweet stuff. And some of the salty stuff they serve in the cafeteria's not bad."

[Kay Haddock]

"Yeah, some salty stuff is great. It's just that popcorn should be sweet, damnit." she chuckles.

[Miranda Weaver]

She laughed and finished the sketch, pondering it for a moment before pulling it out of the book. "Here you go." She handed it to Kay.

[Kay Haddock]

"Oh my god, that's amazing! Is that for me?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"Yeah," she said, smiling. "You get my first gift."

[Kay Haddock]

"I'm honored, thank you! This is so great!" she beams.

[Miranda Weaver]

"I'm glad you like it. Though it makes me think, I should probably go buy another sketchbook for 'just for fun' stuff and one for the stuff I see so I can keep them separate."

[Kay Haddock]

Kay nods. "There's a cool little arts and crafts store in town."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Want to show me what's good? I just picked my last set of stuff based on what was cheapest."

[Kay Haddock]

"Sure! Though I usually get stuff I can actually afford too." she smiles sheepishly.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Miss Weaver's been helping me, but I don't want to push her generosity too much."

[Kay Haddock]

"Huh. That's pretty cool of her." she says, trying not to sound jealous.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Yeah, she thinks maybe I can sort of see things that might happen the way she does. And when I came here, all I had were the things I was wearing at the lab, I think they called them 'scrubs'."

[Kay Haddock]

"Oh man, that sucks. I'm sorry..."

[Miranda Weaver]

Miranda shrugged, "I'm learning that it is what it is and wishing it was otherwise doesn't change the past. All I can do is look at the future."

[Kay Haddock]

"Hmm, I guess that kinda makes sense... I dunno, I'm not very good with that kinda stuff."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Not good at letting the past go? Or looking towards the future?"

[Kay Haddock]

"Both, I guess."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Yeah, I'm not as good as I pretend to be. But I'm trying. And that's the important bit, right?"

[Kay Haddock]

"I hope so!" she chuckles.
