"Eh. I think if the group was steadfast with either plan we would of probably pulled out okay. I mean, in a situation of getting split up, Jayda could of had herself or anyone with her right by the others almost instantly. She could even save them out sudden ambushes or retreat members to safety." He shrugged.

"I just think it was peoples' general disagreements about what we should do that seemed to make it bad. I don't know if a leader's gonna be all that great. Even if say, Con was the leader, if Bear and Jayda didn't like how he was handling things to begin with, it wouldn't of made the situation any better if they weren't fully behind it. So..I don't really know how everyone expects to subside this issues unless everyone's just willing to listen to each other and take heart in how another feels something should go down and their abilities to work with whatever comes."

"Ma'am, I think my abilities weren't used to the fullest extent and that comes back on me alone. Whoever takes on the role of Team leader we all need to know the capabilities of everyone else, how we can work those together to our advantage." Jayda looked at everyone in the team one at a time.

"We may not have the most gnarly of powers but we are Not the weakest team, going in there thinking that way is foolish. We just need to figure out what will ensure we best work together."

"Jayda couldn't get herself out of the room we found that vamp in." Con pointed out. "Marcus is right though, there are too many Alpha's on this team, that's perhaps our biggest problem.

"No, I couldn't get the vamp out. I stepped into that room and around the building but they had a shield around the outside of it, I got in okay. You know how rare it is that I can't port?" Jayda said with a frown, still obviously annoyed with her own failure.

"Though I can't say I disagree with the Alpha part I suppose.."

"You really couldn't of expected there to be some shield for anti teleporting. Especially with it working the way you'd do it. I guess they were just that prepared for the idea of most types of mutants being there?" He shrugged.

"Well, who here would want to be leader anyway?"

"I admit, I sent you guys out without a clear leader to see how it would shake out. I see that was a mistake on my part. I have a question for all of you....if there was a clear leader, would you be able to set your ego's aside and follow their plan?"

"Yep, no doubt about it." Jayda nodded. "Though Ma'am, I must admit that if I thought they had placed the team in jeopardy unduly or disagreed with some action or order that I may call them out after the fact.."

Bear nodded.

"For sure- I'm comfortable with working with a leader to get stuff done. I like to get the chance to try out the leader hat myself, but until then, whatever is best for the team is what's important."

"A mistake perhaps, but I think in the circumstances a fortuitous one." Con paused, taking another swallow of coffee before speaking again.

Bear was the only one that spoke up about the leader thing and he smirked. "Well, with no one else really wanting to be..maybe Bear should give it a go." He said, having no issues at all taking Bear's lead.

"Which means Con wants it." Jayda chuckled. "What I want to know is why he thinks the mistake was fortuitous? "

"We had danger room time." Jayda looked to Con. "But we could stand a few more sessions, training is always worth it. How did the other teams get their team leaders chosen?"

Bear nodded at both Jayda's and Con's points. "Team danger room sessions are always a good thing, probably moreso then the individual training we all do. It's just a matter of fixing a time, and sticking to it."

"Then lets do that. Of course, I'm not sure how the other leaders got their positions. Originally, they had just signed up for it then they proved their worth via Danger Room sessions. If they did a good job, they kept the leader position. So, everyone who wants to be should give it a shot. We'll see if it's best for the team that way too."

Bear turned to Con, a puzzled look on her face.

"I don't think that's neccessary. I'm positive we can work this out, at least on a interim basis, right now."

Jayda stretched lazily.

"Totally with Bear on this one. When it comes down to it there should be no drama once we choose someone.. or you scared you might lose if we do this now, Con?" Jayda's eyed glinted mischievously.

Bear caught Jayda's wink before she took a seat, facing the others.

Con sighed inwardly. Obviously he and Bear were communicating on a totally different level.

"You really think it's that simple?"

Jayda eyed Con for a moment, thoughts obviously flickering through her eyes.

"Could you just tell us how it is then? Instead of making us guess all the time, I am getting tired of the hit and miss.." her voice is softer than before.

"If you vote for Bear, then I won't be going out in the field until I'm confident she's not going to get me killed. If you vote for me, I'm not taking us out in the field until I'm happy with the way the team's running. Either way, we've got a lot of sim time ahead of us."

Jayda smiled.

"Yeah, we already established that we need to train, we are a new team and I am a new X-person."
