I13DT - Already Tried This

[Allison Rogers]

Allison was sitting in the women's locker room after a nasty Danger Room session. She had several bruises and abrasions that her half-form was in the process of healing. There was a loud pop as her regeneration pulled on of her shoulders back into place. Anyone who checked the Danger Room's logs would see that Allison had simulated a particularly nasty (though not deadly) bar fight. Now she was recovering and she still had the Danger Room reserved for another half hour. The program had been reset and was awaiting her to return and reactivate it.

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

Steph walked into the locker room looking to see if this "Allison" was actually using the room she'd reserved or if Steph could just start her reservation early.

She wasn't expecting to see a lioness, and it took some effort to hold back her more canine side from growling.

She flashed a friendly smile, though, and set her bag down on a bench.

"Allison, I presume?"

[Allison Rogers]

"Yeah," she said, working her jaw and then rotating her shoulder to make sure it was set properly.

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Stephanie," she smiled. "You going back in for more or are you done? Don't mean to rush, just curious."

[Allison Rogers]

"Undecided. I got my ass handed to me the last time I was in there. Not sure how self-destructive I'm feeling."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Ah, one of those sessions. I know the feeling. You could turn up the safeties a bit." she suggested, opening up her gym bag.

[Allison Rogers]

"That would defeat the purpose. I'm Allison by the way."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Pleasure to meet you," she said, stripping out of her street clothes and pulling on a training uniform.

"Turn them up a bit, not on fully--that gets boring. But it can keep you going for another round when you'd otherwise quit or pass out bleeding." she chuckled.

"Our new lawyer and civics teacher, right?"

[Allison Rogers]

"Yeah," she said, standing up. "You're one of the power control teachers?"

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"That's me," she smiled. "The kids are fun...it's...probably the most challenging thing I've ever done though," she chuckled.

[Allison Rogers]

"I've never actually taught anyone anything in my life, so I'm really not sure how its going to go. We'll see I guess. You want to beat up some bikers with me?"

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"No better way to get to know someone," she grinned.

[Allison Rogers]

After a particularly spirited brawl, during which Allison had spent most of her time in human form, they returned to the locker room while the Danger Room cleaned up. It might look to Steph, with her experience, like Allison had been looking for a beating. She was now sitting where Steph had found her, shifted into half-form to let her regeneration take care of her injuries.

Steph cracked her neck as she shifted from her hybrid form back to human, not entirely sure how to broach her observation. She'd taken quite a beating herself, though the biggest injuries were already healing.

"Look, I ah...really just met you so it's hardly my place to say anything like this but...something wrong? I know that program, and who designed it, and no one uses it with the safeties off unless they're really looking to get smacked around.

[Allison Rogers]

"Absolutely fine," she said, looking at Steph. Probably best not to play poker with her. "You handled yourself pretty well. Scraps like that can get really messy."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

Steph nodded, wincing as a rib popped back into place. "Few years on the X-teams will do that to you. Just living at the school has unfortunately given a lot of us more practice fighting than any of us would like."

[Allison Rogers]

"Sometimes it can't be helped," she said with a nod.

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"You talk well in your hybrid form. Took me a long time to figure that trick out."

[Allison Rogers]

"My snout's not nearly as long as yours. That makes it easier."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"That would help," Steph nodded.

"...you sure everything's alright?"

[Allison Rogers]

"You have evidence it's not?" Her cuts were closing up fairly quickly now.

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Like I mentioned...I know who made the program and how he used it. No one does it with the safeties off to that degree unless something is really bothering them or they want to get beat to hell. It's certainly the case the only times I ever use it."

[Allison Rogers]

"But as you said in your opening statement, you don't know me."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

Steph held up her hands defensively. "Never claimed to, and not my place to play head-shrinker. But there are really, really good people here that can help if you are having any issues. Far more helpful than putting yourself into the infirmary, at any rate," she added.

[Allison Rogers]

"I'd only end up in the infirmary if I wasn't able to get to this form. My regeneration doesn't work outside of it."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"That wasn't really my point," she countered, pulling off her uniform and making her way towards the showers.

[Allison Rogers]

And I'm intentionally ignoring your point. "I'll keep your advice in mind if I have a problem."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

Steph rolled her eyes after she shut the curtain on the shower and rinsed off the remnants of the fight, humming several selections from Les Miserables.

the hell is eating her? That program was insane even with safeties on
