I13DT - Teachers Lounge

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah is pouring herself a cup of coffee, absentmindedly scanning the newspaper.

[Allison Rogers]

Allison walks in, not really paying attention as she crosses to the coffee pot to get her own cup when she notices who's there ahead of her. She freezes in place, trying to decide if she can do without coffee today.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Do we need to work out a rotation?" Nailah asks, jokingly dryly as she steps aside to make room for Allison.

[Allison Rogers]

"It *would* make my life easier." She was still keeping her distance.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Look, I may have overdone it a bit with the antagonism and I apologize. It was uncalled for." At least at this point.

[Allison Rogers]

"I may be new here, but I've been around the block long enough to know when I'm being used. And I *was* being used. So apologies are a little premature at this point."

[Nailah Weaver]

"For what it's worth, I don't think that's how Sam saw it."

[Allison Rogers]

"We're not arguing justification here. I don't really care how she saw it." It was just possible that Allison had been brooding.

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'm not trying to justify anything. The last time I got into a less-than-serious fight with somebody she got jealous so take that as you will as for why she enjoyed this."

[Allison Rogers]

"That's... that's just screwed up."

[Nailah Weaver]

"She prefers the word strange, but you're not entirely wrong, I suppose." she shrugs.

[Allison Rogers]

Allison finally poured her cup of coffee, sipping at it in a dark, thoughtful silence for a bit.

[Nailah Weaver]

"I know what you're thinking, but that's not what that was. It's nothing sexual."

[Allison Rogers]

Allison gave a disbelieving snort. "I don't believe that for a minute."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Okay, fine, there's a little bit of that." she begrudgingly admits. "But that's not what motivates it. It's not exactly easy to explain unless you're particularly versed or interested in mysticism."

[Allison Rogers]

"I'm not really either of those things, so give me the cliffs notes version."

[Nailah Weaver]

"She's the Morrigan. The universe had a flock of ravens and triple-goddess shaped hole and she fit into it. Or she's insane, depending on who you ask."

[Allison Rogers]

"Having met her, it might be both," she said, rubbing her temples. "I was a fool to take this job. My secretary said so, but I thought she was just mad about me leaving."

[Nailah Weaver]

"It's a lot to take in." she says not condescendingly at all.

[Allison Rogers]

"Yeah... yeah it is. Maybe too much," she said absently as she wandered back towards the door.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Of all the things to call you I didn't think 'quitter' would be one of them."

[Allison Rogers]

"Under other circumstances, I might agree with you. I realize we got off on a bad foot, but I'd appreciate it if you'd do me a favor. Swing by my office this afternoon. I'll have the letter ready and I'd appreciate if you'd take it to her for me."

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah quirks an eyebrow. "You should probably talk to her yourself."

[Allison Rogers]

"No... no I really don't think I should," she said, looking pointedly back at Nailah. "I've trespassed in your territory long enough. The quicker I'm out, the better it will be for all concerned."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Suit yourself, but I'm not going to do it for you."

[Allison Rogers]

"Fair enough," she said, any trace of feline dignity gone from her frame. She poured her mug down the small lounge sink and rinsed it out, before finally managing to make it out the door.

"What the hell just happened here?" she is forced to ask herself.
