"Explain?" Her head straightened up.

[Roland Sackville]

"He, er, had the gift of foresight. Not perfect, not like what you seem to have, but better than nothing."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Miss Weaver thinks I might have something like that, but she's not sure yet."

[Roland Sackville]

"Miss Weaver is also a nosy busybody, but she means well.

Foresight is difficult to manage, or so I'm told. Repeatedly."

[Miranda Weaver]

She crossed her arms. "People keep bad mouthing Miss Weaver. I'm going to start taking offense here at some point."

[Roland Sackville]

"I'm glad she's taken care of you, don't get me wrong."

[Miranda Weaver]

The arms didn't uncross, "Then what was the point of calling her a nosy busybody?"

[Roland Sackville]

"'cause it's the truth," Roland shrugged. "In my experience, at least."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Well, that's your problem then isn't it? I'm just glad to have someone take an interest in me who wasn't just trying to find out how my power worked by removing my eyes!" She hugged the book as she realized she'd just raised her voice in the library and she turned as if to make a hasty retreat.

[Roland Sackville]

"Woah, woah, calm down, Miranda. I'm not saying Nailah is a bad person or anything. And no one here wants to put you back in the situation you were in."

[Miranda Weaver]

She didn't turn around, "I'm sorry. That was uncalled for."

[Roland Sackville]

"It's understandable. You've had a hard time, and here I am, badmouthing the person who's come to help you.

Let me make it up to you. I'll buy you a drink."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I'm not particularly thirsty right now," she responded.

[Roland Sackville]

"Well, something to eat, then."

[Miranda Weaver]

She thought for a moment, "I could eat."

[Roland Sackville]

"C'mon. I'm sure we can find something in town that isn't boiled to death."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Okay," she said. "Just let me check this book out first."

[Roland Sackville]

"Sure thing. What are you reading?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"I thought I'd start with Egyptian mythology."

[Roland Sackville]

Roland blinked for a moment. "A quite...interesting topic."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I think it will be." She headed for the front desk.

[Roland Sackville]

Roland hung back, waiting.

[Miranda Weaver]

After checking out, Miranda came back. "Okay, ready to go."

[Roland Sackville]

"Lets see what we can find, shall we? Any preferences?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"Nope, most everything is new to me."

[Roland Sackville]

"Well, then, let's see if we can't get your culinary education off on the right foot with some Italian."
