Charles chattered some more then focused on returning to his own shape by following the two XMens instructions. In jumps and starts who returned to his normal shape.

"Oh, sure, right away," Charles said focusing on shifting and after a few moments he was finished. He ended up turning into a more armored variation of the previous shape.

Steph radioed her companions, "Will and I are heading back to the plane with the two that were held captive, Charles, and Miranda. We'll get them settled and meet back up with you to help take down this place."

She nodded at the two, flashing a reassuring smile. "We're gonna get you out of here and safe as soon as we can."

Stephanie turned towards the door, letting out a low growl as she started to shift back into her hybrid form. She sniffed the air deeply to make sure there weren't any new dangers between them the the exit.

She took a few cautious steps, looked out the door to make sure it was clear, and if it was, waved the group to follow her.

The coast WAS clear, but there was still that awful smell from the locked front room...

And then a loud crash, as if something was knocked over.

Miranda jumped and, by habit, tried to put everyone else between herself and that door. "What was that?" She said in a low whisper.

Stephanie let out a loud growl as she dropped into a defensive stance, putting herself between the kids and the sound. She sniffed the air, her feral eyes darting around quickly.

Charles shook his head knowing that he couldn't really communicate while shifted. He moved so that he was between Miranda and the door and his armor seemed to get thicker as he stared nervously at the door.

"Shit," Stephanie growled under her breath. She looked back at the door and then towards the exit, uncertain if the big door was worth investigating or not---there could be a student in there...or there could be something that was about to kill them all.

Steph looked at Will. "Let's get the kids out of here...do you or I come back to see if there's someone we need to save behind that door?"
