I13DT: Savage Land, Polite Manners

[Will Stanton]

Will sat in the communications room (they have one, apparently), and tried to contact Ka-Zar, Lord of the Hidden Jungle!

Hopefully, he had his phone with him.

[Narrator]

There was a moment before Will was acknowledged, but eventually the connection was made. He saw a bare, well-tanned arm reaching towards what must have been the camera that gave way to the looming, shadowed face of a blonde, long-haired, bearded man. He narrowed his eyes at the camera.

"...who are you supposed to be?"

[Will Stanton]

"Code name Plasticine, of the UK based X-Men, sir. Calling to inform you of a situation developing in the Savage Land."

[Narrator]

"So this isn't about my daughter, eh?" He seemed relieved, briefly.

[Will Stanton]

"No, sir. She's been a fine student. Exemplary. You should be proud."

[Narrator]

"I'd be more proud if she didn't insist on this nonsense, but perhaps she'll grow out of it."

"What's this about, then?"

[Will Stanton]

"We're planning a raid. We have intelligence pointing out a secret base, hidden deep within the borders of the Savage Land, that his a history of kidnapping, torture, and megalomaniac tendencies.

We're going in to take them out."

[Narrator]

"...intelligence."

"Intelligence from who?"

[Will Stanton]

"The British Government, sir. We have satellite photos."

[Narrator]

"And when were they planning on letting me know?"

[Will Stanton]

"I...don't know. I suppose that's what I'm doing?" Will faltered.

[Narrator]

"And how long have you known?" He narrowed his eyes at Will.

[Will Stanton]

"Long enough to plan a mission, not long enough to become impatient about it," Will countered.

[Narrator]

"How many are you bringing?" He said, considering the matter.

[Will Stanton]

"A very small team. This isn't a full invasion, by any stretch of the imagination."

[Narrator]

"Very well. I'll allow it, but if we lose contact with you for too long I'll be bringing in my own force."

[Will Stanton]

"If you lose contact for us for too long, we're probably dead or wish we were."
