I13: Restless Energy

[Onyx]

Onyx looked perfectly normal. She was calm, controlled, and polite as she always was.

She also had been working almost non-stop since Emily disappeared. She had cleaned her own apartment until it was immaculate. Then she cleaned Sara and Will's place and cooked an entire week's worth of meals. Now she was at the manor doing laundry.

All of the laundry.

[Victoria Valentine]

"Darling, I'm getting tired just watching you. Slow down a bit," Victoria mused from where she was folding her clothes.

[Onyx]

"Why?" Onyx asks, looking nervous, "Have I done a poor job?"

[Victoria Valentine]

"You know as well as I do that you haven't. That's not what the hurry is, though, is it darling?"

[Onyx]

Onyx sighs, "No, ma'am."

"I am worried about Emily."

[Victoria Valentine]

"I'm going to need a little more information for that to make sense, darling."

[Onyx]

"I am sorry, I haven't..." Onyx frowns, "It is difficult to explain."

"Emily is my daughter. She was kidnapped with the other students."

"...That was much easier to explain then I imagined."

[Victoria Valentine]

"Wait, wait... not to overlook the obviously concerning 'was kidnapped' bit... daughter?"

[Onyx]

"Well, technically at least," Onyx says, "My cells were harvested at some point by the slavers. From there, things become a little unclear."

"She has been living with me. She is....difficult."

[Victoria Valentine]

Victoria seemed to be considering this. "So... is she a clone of you then? Or... something else?"

[Onyx]

"A clone might be the best way to describe it," Onyx says. "However, our powers and physiology are very different, ma'am."

"She is also insane," Onyx says. She sounds exasperated and even a little bit frustrated.
