I12DT: Incoming Exasperated Sigh

[John Hino]

John had a full plate and was rapidly devouring an enormous cheeseburger by virtue of his draconian maw. Also, he was unknowingly humming a stupid pop song that was stuck in his head.

[Mizuki Hino]

The door to the cafeteria flies open with a bang (and probably won't close properly again without maintenance taking a look at it) and a tiny Asian girl is standing in the doorway. She finds John and stomps over towards him. "There you are!" She seems to be too angry to be embarrassed by ruining the door.

[John Hino]

"Hrm?" he mumbled, as he currently had a full mouth, looking at her perplexed.

[Calvin Strong]

Cal slowed, but didn't stop, as he passed, one of the little spheres orbiting him in the air pausing in its orbit and apparently tracking the two of them. Huh. She's cute. What's she want with Godzilla? he thought as he focused on Auxiliary Visual #2.

[Mizuki Hino]

"You left me with Bear to 'go check on something', remember? That was yesterday and you never showed up again!"

[John Hino]

He swallowed.

"What are you talking about? Of course I... shit... sorry sis..."

[Mizuki Hino]

"Yeah." she says, fists on her hips. "So what's going on? Where's Dad?"

[John Hino]

"Dad's in Japan right now actually, with Obaasan and Ojiisan. As for what's going on... can we... talk about that somewhere else?"

[Mizuki Hino]

"Oh no! You're not going anywhere until you've explained to me why I had to drop everything and get on a plane."

[John Hino]

"It's too important to risk this ending up on some kids twitter feed."

[Mizuki Hino]

"You think I just blab out everything you tell me like some little kid!?"

[John Hino]

"What? N-no! It's not you I'm worried about talking."

[Mizuki Hino]

"Yeah I'm sure everyone here's just dieing to spread the word on what a giant butt you are, John!"

[John Hino]

"Damnit Mizuki, this isn't about some stupid embarrassing secret! If the wrong people get wind of it, they aren't just going to sue or blackmail us. I already told you that much. I promised I'd tell you more and I will, but I can't take any chances with this because if I fuck this up then it's game over. So you'll have to excuse a little paranoia okay?" he said, fluctuating between calm and angry.

[Mizuki Hino]

"You're worse than Dad!" she yells and slams her fist on the table, cracking the entire length of the surface and severely distorting the metal structure underneath. She looks mortified for a second but it's quickly replaced by a look of stubborn defiance again. It would almost look adorably pathetic if she hadn't just laid waste to a table.

[John Hino]

"Dad never had to deal with death cults!" he blurted out before he could stop himself.

[Mizuki Hino]

"And he never comes up with a stupid excuse either. He just goes silent. But I'm sure in another year or two you'll have that down too!" she grumbles and looks just about ready to storm off.

[John Hino]

"Excuse! Do you have any idea how much scary shit I've had to deal with?"

[Mizuki Hino]

"No! No I don't!"

[John Hino]

"Since I joined the X-Men I've faced mutants genetically altered into being like vampires, been attacked by a creature of pure malice sometimes called a Black Dog, assaulted a colossal alien robot trying to mine the planet, was stranded in a future where mutants are actively hunted by legions of Sentinels where I had died, went to a dimension full of evil versions of people here including myself whom I'm damn lucky didn't kill me, and been kidnapped by a psychotic hunter who turned me into a bloodthirsty beast for him to challenge."

"I've been thrown through so many walls I've lost count. I've been crushed and electrocuted. I've had every inch of my body burned. And... I've tried to eat my girlfriend."

[Mizuki Hino]

"I'm sorry..." she says meekly.

[John Hino]

John sighed.

"...I guess you couldn't have known."

[Mizuki Hino]

"No, cause you never tell anybody anything..." she says carefully.

[John Hino]

"I trying to get better about that."

[Mizuki Hino]

"That's good cause I'm not leaving you alone until you tell me why I'm here."

[John Hino]

"Can we at least talk about it somewhere less public?"

[Mizuki Hino]

"Fine."

[John Hino]

"After I eat?" he asked hopefully.

[Mizuki Hino]

She stares daggers at John for a second.

"Fine..."

[John Hino]

"Oh please, you know I can eat all this in less than ten minutes. Five if you want both of us to be embarrassed."

[Mizuki Hino]

"Ten minutes." she frowns slightly, but mostly to hide the fact that this almost made her laugh.

[John Hino]

"I saaaw thaaat," he smirked.

[Mizuki Hino]

"Just eat your stupid burger." she smiles faintly.
