He nodded as they faded into the 'dorm room'. "All right. Show me," he said.

Eager to impress, Astrid concentrated on isolating the memory. Things went slow at first as she was being extremely careful, but soon she managed to get it cut off from the rest of her memories and was holding it in place.

"Very good," he said as he watched. "Now take it and store it." He looked around the room. "Over there, maybe," he said, nodding toward an empty shelf on what would be the roommate's side of the room.

As she did, Cassiel took a mental measure of her. She'd just had to go through a powerful memory she'd been holding, track it down, and sever its connections to her subconscious... he really doubted she'd been through as much psychic stress since her meltdown had occurred.

Astrid was tired and emotionally exhausted. She wanted to collapse but she was pushing herself because she wanted to impress Cassiel.

She also felt really weird and awkward about having him in her "room", but that was an entirely different can of worms. Sort of.

"Very good. And I think that's enough for the day," he said. He waved his hand, and with a psychic push, he pulled them back out of the astral and into his office. He was refilling her coffee mug as they came to. "Just relax for a bit and get your bearings. That was some intense work going on inside your head."

"Thanks," Astrid says, smiling gratefully at Cassiel before sipping the coffee.

"Don't know what you're thanking me for. You did all the heavy lifting," he teased.

Astrid snorts, "You were a lot of help. I mean, I'm pretty sure I couldn't have done all that without you."

"So, thanks," Astrid says, grinning a bit.
