Sitting on the Edge of the World

[Trini Thompson]

Trini was sitting on the edge of the cliff by the lighthouse, dejectedly throwing some loose leaves of grass down into the sea below.

"Whats up?" Isabel asked

[Trini Thompson]

"Hrm? Oh, just sitting here, thinking."

[Isabel Galen]

"Its a good place to do that." Isabel said "I do it a lot myself."

[Trini Thompson]

"Sometimes, it feels like you can see forever."

[Isabel Galen]

"Yeah, I know what you mean." Isabel said "Its one of my favorite places to sit and write."

[Trini Thompson]

"Am I taking your spot? I can leave..."

[Isabel Galen]

"Nah, I'm good." Isabel said "How have you been? I didn't see you the last time I was in Cobweb."

[Trini Thompson]

"You weren't in there when it burned down, did you?" she said, suddenly concerned.

[Isabel Galen]

"No, I wasn't." Isabel said "I heard about it later, though."

[Trini Thompson]

"Good. I'm glad no one was hurt."

[Isabel Galen]

"What happened, anyway?" Isabel said "I heard rumors, but most of them were pretty nuts."

[Trini Thompson]

"There was a fire," Trini said, carefully. "I don't think they've released much more information, other than that."

[Isabel Galen]

"Ok." Isabel said "If you've got to keep it quiet, that is ok. I was just wondering if it was true about the dragon."

[Trini Thompson]

"...what."

[Amanda Weinrich]

"I was talking to someone, and they said that a dragon had been living in the back, and it got loose."

[Trini Thompson]

"Um...no, that's crazy? Why would that happen?"

[Amanda Weinrich]

"Weirder things have happened." Isabel said.

[Trini Thompson]

"Not many MORE weird things. How would a dragon even fit?"

[Isabel Galen]

"It could have been a small dragon."

[Trini Thompson]

"To burn down a full store?"

[Isabel Galen]

"I'm not saying its the most logical explanation."

[Trini Thompson]

"It's the wrong climate and everything."

[Isabel Galen]

"Yeah, I was sure they don't like to go this far north. Especially not this time of year."

[Trini Thompson]

"No, it's nothing like that, I'm sure. But I wasn't there."

[Amanda Weinrich]

"But you must have heard something"

[Trini Thompson]

"I...I don't think I can talk about it."

[Isabel Galen]

"Why not?" Isabel asked

[Trini Thompson]

"I think I'm in enough trouble as it is, don't you?"

[Isabel Galen]

"It isn't like I can get you into more trouble." Isabel said "Maybe I could even help."

[Trini Thompson]

"Yeah, you want the teachers here to give you a concussion? I doubt it.

Professor Weaver has no idea the trouble she's gotten herself into."

[Isabel Galen]

"What did she do?"

[Trini Thompson]

"Well, she gave me a concussion, for one. And she defouled the grounds of the Coven."

[Isabel Galen]

"Can you cleanse and reconsecrate it?"

[Trini Thompson]

"I think the others are a bit beyond that, now. But I don't really know."
