I12DT: Nick's Room

[Narrator]

The next morning, Nick would wake up to be wearing a snazzy new black leather jacket!

This was totally not something to be suspicious of. Everything was normal.

[Nick Varkan]

Nick groaned as he awoke, sat up, and groaned some more.

"Euuughhh... I think I drank too much last," he began, the noticed the jacket, "Aaand slept in... someone else's jacket? Fuck... the hell was in that imported beer?"

[Narrator]

The jacket seemed to radiate a subtle sense of confidence and well-being towards Nick. Aside from a minor headache, he would feel great. Especially for someone who was out all night drinking.

[Nick Varkan]

"Huh... maybe I bought it while drunk," he wondered as he got up, "And as awesome as you look, I'm gonna take a shower." He started to take it off, because he hated putting leather anywhere near the showers.

[Narrator]

Nick was hit by a strong feeling of anxiety as he tried to take the jacket off. "Tried" being the key word. The more he pulled, the harder it held on to him.

[Nick Varkan]

"What the fuck?" Nick asked, giving one more ineffective tug. He tried using his powers to help next.

[Narrator]

No! a voice cried out in Nick's head, No, no, no, no!

It clung stubbornly to him, tightening around him so much that it would start to hurt a little.

[Nick Varkan]

That unexpected communication made him stop.

"You... talk?"

[Narrator]

There was a brief pause before a response came to Nick.

Yes.

[Nick Varkan]

Yeah that's not good.

"If you were going to eat me you could have by now. So what is it you want?"

[Narrator]

Another pause.

No.

[Nick Varkan]

"Can you say anything but yes or no?"

[Narrator]

Frustration.

No-yes.

A sense of waiting. Patience. Calm.

[Nick Varkan]

"Ugh. Just what I need, a parasitic blob with a two word vocabulary," he grumbled. He pulled his jeans on and headed for the door. He needed to find a way to get rid of the damned thing.

[Narrator]

As Nick left the room, he would feel a sense of slight anxiety coming from the jacket.
