I12DT: The Entertainer

Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.

I12DT: The Entertainer

Mars was walking around downtown Maldon. Today was an open air market and she was enjoying buying a few things with what little money she had. She was pretty good at haggling and had a great eye for trades. Already she had managed to get a brand new jacket, some fresh herbs, a length of rope, and some old comic books for less then twenty bucks.

Her parents would be proud.

Currently, she was arguing with a french woman over the price of some colored yarn Mars wanted to turn into a scarf.

"<French!>" Mars says, gesturing in a rather annoyed manner at another booth. The woman rolled her eyes.

Down the road a little ways, a clown was giving a street performance. He juggled for a small crowd, glancing at Mars every so often as she shopped.

Mars laughs, "<See what I mean about hurt feelings?>"

"<I'm kidding, I'm kidding. It's an old family joke,>" Mars explains.

Mars' accent was hard to pin down, but a good ear could nail it as very slightly Austrian.

Across the street from the juggler, a couple of clowns had also started a performance, doing an acrobatic slapstick routine.

"Yeah...I..." Mars turns around. She's boxed in. Two more clowns that look like bodybuilders with clown makeup on are approaching from the other direction.

"Okay, this isn't good," Mars says to Elena, "You should really consider getting out of here."

"If you're in danger, not a chance," she said. "X-Men don't do that." She fumbled and produced her phone, tossing it to Mars, "School Emergency in the contact list." Body builders with clown make-up were definitely unusual in Elena's book, so she did her best to put herself between them and Mars, her armor shimmering into being.

Mars caught the phone and fumbled with it for a minute, managing to send out a call to School Emergency as the clowns started slowly approaching from all sides.

Then an arrow hit Mars. She twisted in the air and fell across the French woman's table. Someone screamed and the crowd started running, stampeding out of the area.

Elena threw out her hands, making a split second decision that playing nice was not going to influence enemies in this case. Beams of force launched from her hands directly at the sensitive parts of the two closest clowns.

*Twang!*

Rocketing over the rooftops of Maldon was Will (by now, simply a nice mocha brown), having slungshot himself from the campus lighttower when he got the alarm.

He missed by two blocks, but was making up for it, charging towards Elena

The clowns doubled over and fell to the ground after being hit by Elena's blasts.

"No, no, no," a voice called out, "There is no class to that. No finesse. Foul play. Yellow card."

A man stepped in front of Elena. On his shoulder there was a very distinctive logo tattooed.

"Madame, allow me to introduce myself. I am Drago, the Fire Eater," Drago said, bowing low, "And, alas! You, my dear sweet thing, are in my way."

With a flourish, Drago sends a blast of flames towards Elena.

As that was happening, the bodybuilder clowns spotted Will charging towards them and took up a defensive stance, looking to stop him from interfering.

Meanwhile, Mars started to get up, holding the arrow in one hand. Catching arrows wasn't easy, even for someone copying the skills of a highly trained martial artist.

Okay, Mars thought, This looks bad.

Who ARE these clowns?

He grew in mass as he charged, ready to meet the bodybuilder on his own terms.

Elena threw her arms up to protect her face. The flames washed over her, setting the edges of her hair alight and cooking exposed skin slightly, but sparing her the worst of what could have happened. "Burns I'm used to," she growled, bringing her hands forward again, together this time, "And it's mademoiselle." She unloaded on him with both hands.

After a brief moment of concentration, Mars had the skill she needed. She broke out into a run, sliding under Drago's flames and tumbling past him in one fluid movement. Another arrow hit the ground, just missing Mars. Then she was back on her feet and running towards the building the arrow came from.

She jumped onto a car and in a showing of impressive parkour skills, managed to disappear into an open second story window.

While this was happening, one of the bodybuilding clowns charged Will, trying to grapple with the pumped-up shapeshifter.

Elena's blast knocked Drago off his feet and he hit the ground hard. She didn't have much time to recover as a clown on a unicycle charged her, swinging a juggling club at her head.

One of Will's opponents went flying. The other one charged at him, throwing a punch.

The clown on the unicycle attempted laughed a quite annoying and grating laugh as he juggled three clubs in the air. As Elena reeled backwards, he threw one of the clubs at her.

Will had learned a new trick, and basically let the guy's punch enter his body, then re-solidifying, trapping his hand.

"See, you're not the only talented one," he said, before slugging the guy in the face.

That's when Mars came flying out of a window, struggling in mid-air with a purple haired archer in a black leotard. They hit the ground and Mars rolls off her, a bit cut up from the shards of glass. Of course, the archer doesn't look much better. As Mars struggles back to her feet, she gets into a boxing stance.

Apparently, the bodybuilder has a glass jaw, 'cause he crumples with one punch and falls forward into Will.

Elena's blast misses the cyclist.

But she manages to hit the unicycle. It turns out that they aren't the most practical things to ride into battle. He topples over, slamming his head into the ground.

I12DT: The Entertainer

Postby Stephanie Kaltiera » Thu Aug 01, 2013 8:21 pm

Stephanie was inside the small coffee shop were she worked in town when the heard the screams. Most of the patrons glanced around nervously and she shot a glance over to her manager, an older man (portrayed in this film by Stan Lee) who gave a grim nod of understanding in her direction. Stephanie tore off her apron and exited out the back. Moments later, a vicious werewolf tore out of the alley, and ran towards the fray. Spotting another opponent on a unicycle , Steph tried to tackle him off his ride.

Elena struggles back to her feet and moves to try to help Mars, holding her hands up to look for a clean shot. It's had to tell under the armor, but her hands are starting to turn pink, like someone who's been in the sun for just a little too long.

Suddenly, a bunch of exciting and unexpected stuff happens!

Will is jumped by three "vertically challenged" clowns with knives. One on each leg and one springing onto his back! They waste no time trying to stab him rather uselessly!

As Elena is taking aim, a flaming baton flies past her, narrowly missing her!

"You will not be taking down Drago so easily," Drago says, swinging a flaming baton in each hand.

An extremely obese clown charges at Stephanie, jumping at her in an attempt to tackle her!

As the archer starts to struggle to her feet, Mars punches her, knocking her back down to the ground. Looking extremely annoyed, Mars grabs the archer's bow and a handful of arrows,

From a particular garage, a brass man in a garage coverall stepped out, surveying the scene.

He sighed, wiping his hands with a grease rag before rolling up his sleeves and joining the fray.

He began by clothes lining one of the clowns on unicycles to the ground.

Elena faces off with Drago, saying something... well... unladylike in French that might regard his ancestry and possibly his parents' marital status at the time of his birth. She moves in closer, wary of the batons, but looking for a good opening for a close range blast.

SMASH! Direct hit! The clown hits the ground hard!

However, one that Elena previously knocked down is getting up. Seeing Bobby, the clown pulls out a knife and throws it at him.

Elena faces off with Drago, saying something... well... unladylike in French that might regard his ancestry and possibly his parents' marital status at the time of his birth. She moves in closer, wary of the batons, but looking for a good opening for a close range blast.

Drago twirls the batons elaborately, slowly advancing on Elena.

Across the street, Mars takes a deep breath and taps into the skills of Fifi the Archer. She takes aim and fires. The arrow flies through the air and stries one of Drago's batons, knocking it from his hands and giving Elena a good opening.

"This is, without a doubt, one of the more bizarre days I've had," Will said, bending unnaturally away from the knife, and trying to kick out the middle clown.

The clown goes flying off and lands in a cart of watermelons. It is very messy.

"Paulie!" One of the clowns clutching onto Will says, "You bastard!"

Steph's eyes widened and the fat man hit her like a truck, slamming her into the pavement and pinning her uncomfortably.

Then the smell hit her.

She let out a howl and clamped her jaw down on the closest, non-vital roll she could find.

The man yells out in pain and rolls of Steph, whimpering and clutching where he was bit.

"No fair! No fair!"
