I12DT - No One Expects The Ghostly Inquisition

That suggestion seemed to resonate with Theresa. Mallory didn't even have to push it. She scrambled backwards, stumbling at first and then darting outside, the clouds following her.

[Regan Rourke]

Regan fell to her knees, only her outline visible in the flames. For a moment, Mallory could see four red pinpricks of light glowing from inside of Regan.

Then Regan started to change. Her fingers sharpened into claws, horns sprouted from her forehead, and she grew a spade-like tail.

As the fires died down, other changes were noticeable as well. Her hair had lengthened, reaching all the way down to her lower back. It was also unlikely she would ever be able to pull off the "androgynous emo girl" look again. In accordance with the traditions of the Marvel universe, turning demonic gave you a ridiculous upgrade in curvaceousness.

[Mallory Davis]

Mallory gives Theresa enough time to run out before walking back into the common room herself.

"That certainly escalated quickly. Have you done something with your hair?"

[Regan Rourke]

With a growl, Regan leaps towards Mallory. At this point, she was basically all instinct and newly grown demonic impulses.

[Mallory Davis]

She tries to side-step Regan and grab her though she's not exactly the most physical person.

"Now now, where are your manners?"

[Regan Rourke]

It works, partly because Regan still isn't used to having a physical form. She struggles and snaps at Mallory, trying to bite her.

"Let me go!" Regan yells.

[Mallory Davis]

"Not until you calm yourself." she calmly insists, grabbing Regan below the jaw to keep herself free from bitemarks.

[Regan Rourke]

Regan snorts, starting to calm down a little.

I'm going to rip out her fucking throat.

"What the hell happened?" Regan asks.

[Mallory Davis]

"No. No you're not."

"You got a little carried away there. Your thoughts determine your shape, remember?"

She turns them towards the turned off television as an improvised mirror.

"What does your shape tell you right now?"

[Regan Rourke]

Regan hesitates, feeling nauseous at the revelation.

Oh no.

"...I see a telepath with boundary issues," Regan finally manages, getting her defensive layer of snark back up.

[Mallory Davis]

"I'm not going to argue with that." she just kind of shrugs though she lets go of Regan's jaw at least. "Your problem is that on the surface you keep trying to think like a human. Should I really care about boundaries when with a single thought I get closer to someone than any human ever would?"

[Regan Rourke]

"Good point. I'll start thinking like a ghost instead," Regan says, "Wander around houses at night. Chase around some kids and their dog. Crawl out of a television to kill people who still inexplicably own a VHS player."

[Mallory Davis]

"Yes, because that's so much different from what you already do, wandering the school at night, scaring people and possessing corpses. Except most of the time you're too busy moping to actually enjoy yourself. But guess what, there's a part of you that knows better." she adds, looking at Regan in the reflection.

[Regan Rourke]

Regan didn't have a witty response to that. She just looked away from the reflection.

[Mallory Davis]

"You can be miserable clinging to something you apparently didn't want to be in the first place or you can grow up and try being happy for once. You know where to find me, should you make up your mind." she says, letting go of Regan.

[Regan Rourke]

"Go to hell," Regan mumbles.
