Roland's Puzzle Challenge #9: Regan's Geneology

Up until recently maintained as a museum, the childhood home of the Braddock family has been pressed into service as additional housing and classroom space for the Institute. Additionally, the increased demands have led to the main ballroom being converted into a cafeteria for both the Institute and those University students on a meal plan. Student reactions have been mixed, and reports of paranormal activity are as of yet unsubstantiated.

Roland's Puzzle Challenge #9: Regan's Geneology
Difficulty: Very hard
Google allowed? Yes

"Color blindness is a thing, and is really quite annoying, from what I've been told. Basically, no one knew about it as a thing until the 1700s or so -- which is about this point in my family tree. We can....thank Ms. Rourke for digging into my background and, oh, I'm EVER so pleased people are digging," he frowned.

"Anyway. It turns out it's sex linked, which is odd. Not quite sure how THAT works. I blame witchcraft. But it's a mutation, like all of you have. So, consider this research into your own mutation -- though I think most of yours is more impressive than not being able to see red.

This is my family tree, like I said, and the three dudes with the red boxes around them? Apparently totally color blind. Couldn't see a thing. Your job, then, is to answer three questions for me.

A) On which chromosome does this particular mutation reside?
B) I've left person "A" as a question mark -- what are the odds of person A being a woman who carries color blindness?
C) What is person B's genotype?

Mars just frowns at the whole thing. Genetics wasn't a subject that they had covered at the circus.

Why can't we ever have classes on tightropes? Or lockpicking?

After a few minutes, Regan holds up a piece of paper. Written in big block letters it says "Slavery".

On the back are the answers:

A) X
B) 0%
C) XcX

"Just that I think it's pretty creepy that you sold slaves," Regan says, "Pretty fucked up."

((The answer is WRONG to part B! Barrin made the same mistake, so it might be the wording -- it's the odds person A is carrying the color blindness gene, not that they are color blind themselves))

"And what makes you say that," he said, trying to keep himself calm.

Haley meanwhile, stared blankly at the sheet of paper, occasionally looking something up on her phone. This whole thing hurt her head.

But she was more concerned that she couldn't shake the image of her history professor, locking eyes with her , and then running her through with a sword. Sometimes she even felt like someone was jabbing her right in the stomach too.

Haley managed to meet Roland's gaze and she immediately looked back down in her paper, eyes wide with fear for the briefest moment.

He walked back to his desk and wrote something down.

"Miss Rourke, times were different."

Haley remained enthralled with her work, ignoring the rest of the class.

Or staring at it at least.

All she could really do was try not to think about her history teacher stabbing her. But then that just let Regan's memories come to the surface.
