[Calvin Strong]

Stimulation was the best way to develop the mind. That, at least, was what Cal had been told. So that was why he found himself sitting by himself in the common room, a game of checkers laid out between himself and the companion cube.

So far, the results hadn't been satisfactory.

"No, you can only move on the black squares," he was telling it. The answer was just to flash a smiley face and the picture of a crown. "You... no, you have to get to the other side to get kinged! I... oh, dammit, I'll go first," he sighed, making a move. This is not going to work...

[Regan Rourke]

"Playing with yourself?" Regan asks with a smirk, floating above Calvin.

[Calvin Strong]

"We know how much you like watching me do that," Cal shot back. Oh god damn it.

[Regan Rourke]

"Of course," Regan says, "It's hilarious."

"What's with the box?"

[Calvin Strong]

"You know in Ghostbusters those boxes they slide out to trap away ghosts forever in? It's one of those."

[Regan Rourke]

"Those were called ghost traps," Regan says, "If you're gonna make references, you should at least get them right, loser."

Regan sticks her hand through the cube, "Seriously, what is this thing?"

[Calvin Strong]

The cube, infuriatingly to Cal, decided that it was going to give its own answers. Which in this case consisted of ":D" on its screens as Regan tried to touch it.

"Isn't there a necrophiliac's convention you could be hiring out to right now?" Cal shot at her, overly irritated for some reason.

[Regan Rourke]

"I got kicked out," Regan says, "Apparently the fact that no one can touch me makes me a tease."

"See, you're cool," Regan says to the cube, "What are you doing with this douche?"

[Calvin Strong]

"I swear to god, get the hell away from that you imaginary whore," Cal snapped, going for his bag. Shit. Shit shit shit, wanted to test this to make sure it'd work first. Oh well.

[Regan Rourke]

"Someone never learned to share his toys," Regan says to the cube with a smirk.

"Were you a single child by any chance, Cal?"

[Calvin Strong]

He pulled the metal tube out of his backpack, turning it on and messing with the settings without looking at Regan. "I'd really suggest you go haunt somewhere else in the next half minute or so," he said.

[Regan Rourke]

"I suggest you eat a whole bouquet of diseased dicks," Regan says.

[Calvin Strong]

"Well, they can't say I didn't warn you," Cal said, shrugging as he pointed it at her. Weird energy signature. How the hell are they doing that? Ah well. Can't have all the answers, he thought, turning the new system on and trying to... well, corrupt Regan's source code. Which obviously wouldn't work since she wasn't actually an AI hologram, but it probably wasn't pleasant, either.

[Regan Rourke]

"Christ's circumcised dick, what the fuck is that?" Regan says, wincing badly. Her entire body felt like it was ringing.

[Calvin Strong]

"That should have worked, god damn it," Cal muttered, turning up the power.

[Regan Rourke]

Regan doubled over holding her head.

"Cut. That. OUT!"

The lights in the room started flickering wildly. Any scanning instrumentation would start glitching up the ass when it tried to get a bead on Regan as the temperature started to plummet.

[Calvin Strong]

"That's more like it," Cal muttered, to no one in particular. "Gave you a chance to fuck off and test someone else," he said, looking up from the device. "Oh well."

[Regan Rourke]

And that's when Regan ripped a hole between worlds. A huge tear floated behind her, filled with a dark and churning mass of shadows and whispers. Ghostly hands reached out and started wrapping around Regan while slowly pulling her into the tear.

[Calvin Strong]

"Okay, seriously, I know you've all invested a lot into this charade, but this is really melodramatic."

[Regan Rourke]

There was no response from Regan, but Calvin seemed to attract the attention of whatever was behind the tear. Shadowy hands reached out and started latching on to him, pulling him towards the tear as well.

[Christine Bowen]

"Hey, whoa, what the hell is going on here?" Christie said.

[Calvin Strong]

"What the- Oh FUCK YOU ALL!" Cal shouted as he fought back, electrifying himself, trying to get away. "Yeah, just UP THE FUCKING ANTE BECAUSE I SAW THROUGH THE GODDAMN TEST!"

[Haley Crusek]

"Cal!" Haley shrieked, seeing her boyfriend getting sucked into something out of her nightmares.

[Regan Rourke]

There was a low, deep chuckle as several hands shied away from Calvin, only to be replaced by even more. Tendrils whipped out and grabbed Haley and Christe as well, seeming to become even more powerful and substantial as time went on.

Meanwhile, Regan had slipped through the tear and disappeared into the mass of shadows.

[Calvin Strong]

"Oh god damn it, let them go!" Cal shouted. "Just get whatever the fuck this is over with and leave them alone!" He did keep a death grip on the staff as he was separated from the herd by these... THINGS.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley shrieked, and all of the lights in the common room shattered as her TK lashed out wildly when tendrils grabbed ahold of her. She tried to focus, remembering what her powers did to Regan and her shadow creatures the last time they attacked, and slammed a wave of TK into the portal.

[Regan Rourke]

No matter what they did, the effect was always the same, a few hands retreated only to be replaced by three more. Eventually everyone was dragged into the darkness of the tear because the person writing this encounter is a railroading son of a bitch.

What a dick.

With everyone gone, the tear closed, leaving the room nice and quiet.

And nothing remained of the encounter other than the little cube.
