Counting the feathers

"And we do tend to build ourselves around that acceptance, aye?"

"I can't disagree with that. But a lot of what makes someone themselves is tied up in, well, who they are."

"And now we're getting a bit philosophical," she chuckled.

[Nailah Weaver]

"I suppose." she chuckles. "But for most of us our self-image is a little less fluid."

"I'd say mine isn't fluid per-se, just defined differently."

[Nailah Weaver]

"You know what I mean. Physically being someone else is strange for most, including me."

[Samantha McManus]

"I can take that for what it's worth. Will seemed to cope fairly well, too."

"As did Roland, strangely enough."

[Samantha McManus]

"For all we know, it's happened to him before."

[Nailah Weaver]

"That's an oddly specific thing to have encountered."

[Samantha McManus]

"Life didn't just get interesting for mutants when we came around."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Of course not. But you'd think he would have mentioned something. Then again, it takes a significant amount of convincing to get him to tell you what he had for lunch."

"He might not have thought it noteworthy."

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah just gives a faint shrug. "Who knows."

"We do know his opinion of what's unusual is... skewed."

[Nailah Weaver]

"We're ones to talk." she smirks slightly.

[Samantha McManus]

"Oh aye, but he's done everything thrice," she chuckles.

[Nailah Weaver]

"He doesn't seem quite bored enough for that." she laughs.

"So headaches aside, how are you feeling?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Like I just ran a couple marathons."

[Samantha McManus]

"So I won't try to coax you out of that bed just yet."

[Nailah Weaver]

"If that's what'll make you stop worrying I'll get up right this moment." she chuckles.

"I can be patient, really."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Good. I really didn't want to get up."

[Samantha McManus]

"We'll wheel you into a sunbeam," she smirked faintly.

[Nailah Weaver]

"That'd actually be quite nice."

[Samantha McManus]

"These newer buildings at least have windows worth a damn."
