I12 - Wednesday After Class

[Theresa McMasters]

"You'd probably think the same if you'd been here when she left. I guess we just made a mistake. One of these days I'll move on." Movement behind and above Theresa might catch Brigid's eye. The entire ceiling of her room was concealed by dark clouds that had started roiling during this part of the conversation.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Well... people fight, right? That doesn't mean it has to be... yeah."

[Theresa McMasters]

"Brigid, this isn't a high school movie. People make mistakes and things don't get fixed. It happens, it sucks. The world doesn't stop turning because two people didn't work out."

[Brigid Plunder]

She sighed, crestfallen.

"...I guess I should go."

[Theresa McMasters]

Theresa paused. "If you see Kay..." She chewed her lip and her eyes threatened to water again, "You know what, forget it, there's nothing good to say other than 'I'm sorry it didn't work' and that's kind of sucky."

[Brigid Plunder]

"I... I could try to talk to her."

[Theresa McMasters]

"I doubt she'll listen. She didn't seem to actually be interested in listening to me."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Well I'm not really happy with her either, but..."

[Theresa McMasters]

"Well, then leave her alone. You can sort your stuff out with her after you guys get swapped back."

[Brigid Plunder]

"What about you?"

[Theresa McMasters]

"What about me?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"I guess I just... want to help."

[Theresa McMasters]

"I know you do, but I don't think you can."

[Brigid Plunder]

"I'm not going to go behind your back or anything, but if you want me to talk to her, say anything to her, I will."

[Theresa McMasters]

"No, if I decide I have something to say to her, I'll tell her myself. Thanks, though."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Okay. Are... you going to be alright?"

[Theresa McMasters]

"No, but I'll bury myself in something and at least take my mind off of it."

[Brigid Plunder]

"If you need to vent, just find me."
