There was a knock at the door.. An insistent knock at the door.

[Christine Bowen]

Cristie opened the door "Hey Bobby." she said standing aside so that he could come in "Whats up?"

[Bobby Bowen]

Bobby entered, then brought up a tablet computer.

He then played Cal's edited video of the fight at the apartment building.

"Nasty little piece of work, there."

[Christine Bowen]

"Yeah, that place is a nest of rotten little shits." Christie agreed "But did you see that bit where I jumped out the window? That was pretty boss."

[Bobby Bowen]

"You know dad is going to freak, right? And yeah, it was a great jump. You handled it better then I do, usually."

[Christine Bowen]

"I know he'll freak." she replied "I really don't....I care, but beating down one of those supremacist assholes is worth it."

[Bobby Bowen]

"Yeah, it was worth it.. You got a rush, you feel good for standing up for Xavier's dream. I get it."

Bobby shifted to his fleshy form.

"It's not over, though. these assholes are going to want payback."

[Christine Bowen]

"I know." Christie said "I can take them again. And it isn't just standing up for the Xavier's dream, its standing up for Mom."

[Bobby Bowen]

"It's admirable you want to fight for mom," he started, pausing as he fought down his memories.

"It's not you I'm worried about, though. What happens if they decide to get back at one of the XI kids who can't fight back?"

[Christine Bowen]

"Then we'll deal with it." Christie said.

[Bobby Bowen]

"And what happens when Tommy gets sent to the hospital? You'll deal with that too? This stuff escalates. That's the point. There is no real end."

[Christine Bowen]

"I think it will." Christie said "Those chucklefucks will get their shit together, or we'll make the leave."

[Bobby Bowen]

"No chance to talk you into sitting the next one out? Just to let things cool off for a bit?"

[Christine Bowen]

"Since when did you turn into Dad?" Christie asked "Because I think I remember you and him having this fight."

[Bobby Bowen]

Bobby opened his mouth to retort, but nothing came out. He closed his mouth, looking down at the ground.

[Christine Bowen]

"Hey, at least I learned from the best." Christie said "I get that you're worried about me. I understand that. I like it, kinda. But I'm going to be ok."

[Bobby Bowen]

"Ok.. I mean, you are tougher then I am, I'll admit that. Just pick your fights a little smarter, ok? Try not to invite an invasion of the campus or something."

[Christine Bowen]

"Yeah, I know." Christie said "to be fair, I didn't think that things would go that bad. Or that they'd be so pathetic."

[Bobby Bowen]

"Yeah, it was pretty.. Lopsided? Unfair?"

He snickered, running through the video posted on the Internet.

[Christine Bowen]

"Yeah, I actually feel kind of bad about it." Christie said "I mean, yeah, I can't stand by and let them pull that shit. But I also kinda want to help them."

[Bobby Bowen]

Bobby shrugged.

"Helping people- that's what this place has always been about."

[Christine Bowen]

"Yeah, I know." Christie said "I just wish I knew if I should kick their asses or hand them a cookie. Because I kind of want to do both."

[Bobby Bowen]

"I don't see a reason you can't do both. Keep the option for help open, but if they do something illegal, or raise mutant paranoia.. Give em a smack."

[Christine Bowen]

"Yeah" Christie said "The only problem is that they seem to want to do shit that will get them smacked."

[Bobby Bowen]

He shrugged.

"Then smack, but gently."

[Christine Bowen]

"Maybe you should go talk to them." Christie said "Some of them might want a job."

[Bobby Bowen]

Bobby begged off, raising his hands.

"Hey, I'm not a charity.. That's the school's thing."

[Christine Bowen]

"I didn't say you were." Christie said "But you've been saying you need someone to come in and sweep up."

[Bobby Bowen]

Bobby thought about it a moment.

"I'll give them a fair shake if they come in."

[Christine Bowen]

"Good to know." Christie said "Um, do you think Dad saw?"

[Bobby Bowen]

Bobby thought about it a moment.

"Possibly.. He keeps pretty close tabs on mutant-related goings on.. He might not recognize the shirt you were wearing, though. Whoever was filming you did a pretty good job keeping your face off the picture."

[Christine Bowen]

"Yeah, I'll have to thank Cal for that."

[Bobby Bowen]

"So, have a good story thought out. And your best Daddy's Little Girl performance ready to roll. You should be okay." He said, snickering.

[Christine Bowen]

"You know Daddy can't stay mad at his little princess for long." Christie said, grinning.

[Bobby Bowen]

"Be careful, Cris."

Bobby turned to leave, grabbing his tablet.
