Sam's Office: Beware of Geeks Bringing Gifts

Renovated from the Manor's original guest house, the majority of faculty offices are housed here.

Ding! Pop! Sara came to the stop at the bottom of a tube.

"Well, let's see here...." an elderly Will said, pulling Sara and taking her out.

"Urgent, huh? Feh. Nothing's ever urgent around here. Bunch of lousy kids who can't take their time."

Removing the ribbon, Will set Sara down on -- well, let's be honest here, it was a turntable. Placing the needle on her outer edge, he started it up.

"So. What brings you to the records department?"

"Something on the restructuring around here if possible but mostly anything on radio signals."

"Radio signals? What are you talking about?" he asked, flipping her over to side B.

"Well, that's an interesting subject. R&D looking at restructuring everything again, are they? Bah. Bloody machines. Things were better in the old days."

"They really were. We're looking into restoring rather than restructuring, I suppose. And please take that needle off of my butt."

"Hrm? Oh, right. Of course, of course."

He took out what looked like an old-fashioned bellows, and stuck it in Sara's mouth, pushing down HARD to send a gust of air into her, to help undo the flattening.

Sara lets out a couple burps after getting up to regular size and proportions.

"Thank you."

Now, I'm not sure how much we have back on radio waves here, but I can certainly help you out. Sounds like something more recent, ey?"

"Oh, it's very simple. The ingredients chosen define the memory -- or is it the other way around? A well-constructed pastry can trigger all five senses."

"Precisely.

I dunno, maybe it's the fetishization of the impossible, or the desire for near impossibilities, but combing distinct things into one coherent whole has sort of a zen feeling to it, don't you agree?"
