[Things Happening ITT] 15 minutes into XI history class...

[Regan Rourke]

"No fair. I want to recklessly be put in danger by an authority figure," Regan says.

[Kay Haddock]

Kay wants to say something to Regan but with the ship still filling with water and feeling very unsteady she just slips under the water again and swims down through the whole in the floor to try and find the chest she saw earlier.

Swimming through the murky harbor water she finds it after a bit, sitting on the ground. Grabbing it she tries to drag it out from under the sinking ship.

[Alex Carpenter]

"Up. Right. We can... uh.. yeah. Up." Alex looked up, then braced himself, gathering up what he could from the hull, and driving a stream of metal up through the ceiling, trying to merge it with any metal plating in the ceiling/floor to open up a hole. Okay... open the holes, then I can give us something to climb up... yeah, this'll work.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Right," Brigid frowned and grabbed one of the men, and beginning to climb.

[Regan Rourke]

Regan frowns and then follows after Alex and Brigid.

[Narrator]

Mercy had managed to somewhat stabilize the boat, but it turns out, boats are very heavy things, and it was going down, one way or another.

Alex and Brigid (and Regen) managed to haul themselves up through the roof (now side? Tilting boats make references hard) of the boat, where they found three more guards --- stumbling around. It seems something had happened to impact their vision somewhat, and they had somehow been shaken off of their feet by someone rocking the boat. I wonder what pair of telepaths were in charge of THAT happening.

Kay found the chest alright -- and a very heavy chest it was, indeed. It would take her a minute or two, but she could get it floating again -- though one of the previously dumped people? He seemed to be diving towards her, while the other one was no where to be seen, presumably having swam away.

[Brigid Plunder]

Brigid set down the man she was hauling onto the deck and did her level best to bull-rush the disoriented guards to knock them over the boat's railing, hopefully.

[Regan Rourke]

Regan floated up in the air, away from Brigid and Alex, getting in the open to get the guard's attention on her.

"Hey!" Regan shouts, "You guys shoot like old people screw! Frequently without a condom, leading to the spread of sexually transmitted infections!"

[Kay Haddock]

Kay desperately jerks on the chest, trying to get it towards the land before the guard can catch up to her. She could always abandon the chest if she had to. She just hopes she's not taking this risk to save Roland's drugs and that it's actually something important.

[Mercy Wilkins]

Mercy pulls for a while longer, even after it's futile, not really even really understanding what she's doing, so consumed is she by the energy.

Eventually though, she lets go all at once, of the energy rather than the boat. Streams of darkforce abandon Mercy, slithering across the docks and down into the water, pooling up in one of the compartments of the boat.

Mercy falls back, eyes and wings back to normal, staring up at the sky.

[Haley Crusek]

When Mercy gave up Haley was left alone trying to hold up the boat. She struggled for a while, sweat forming on her brow, her teeth gritted. She let out a roar as she tried to hold up the boat alone

[Alex Carpenter]

Alex didn't set his guy down, but he did start sucking in the makeshift ladder they'd climbed up. Not for the first time, he wished he was iron again instead of aluminum, but you worked with what you had, and this would do. On the bright side, now that he was doing it, controlling aluminum felt more fluid than controlling steel...

He lashed out with his power, trying to send a stream of metal wrapping around the closest blinded man, trying to pin him into immobility before moving on to the next.

[Calvin Strong]

"Hey, hey, hey, that's good," Cal said, hurriedly. "I can see them coming out top now. Let it go, you did it," he said, squeezing her hand and casting a worried glance at Mercy.

[Steve Jones]

"C'mon guys... get clear..." Steve groaned, vein throbbing in his temple as he kept flooding the goons' sight with absolute darkness.

[Narrator]

Brigid's charge knocked the first guy into the water. The second guy was nicely wrapped up by Alex's aluminum bindings. The third guy, staggering around in the darkness, fell off the boat of his own volition, trying to chase after the sound of Regan's voice.

Kay managed to get the chest free from it's sandy bed and began tugging it to shore. Her escape would be somewhat aided by a suddenly aqua-born history teacher punching a chasing mobster dude really hard in the face.

[Calvin Strong]

"All right... let 'em go, meathead. Looks like they're all on the ropes," Cal said, finally glancing up from over the cover.

[Alex Carpenter]

"Is that... is that all of them?" Alex asked, checking to make sure Brigid was okay instead of really looking around for more threats.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Alright let's move," Brigid said as she rushed back towards Alex and the men they'd dragged. "I don't think Haley can hold it much longer..."

[Alex Carpenter]

"Yeah, you're right," he said, hefting the other guy, too (and, since they didn't really need it anymore, drawing whatever mass he felt like from the boat with each step) and hurrying down to the deck and toward the dock, urging Brigid ahead of him since, well, he wasn't going to let HER be the one the boat sank under.

[Brigid Plunder]

Brigid indeed hurried onto the dock!

[Alex Carpenter]

Alex hopped up onto the dock with her, trying not to jostle the two men too much, but not having much success most likely. "Y'know I think if more people had this kind of history class, they'd pay a hell of a lot more attention," he said, looking over the edge of the dock to see if he could spot anyone else.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley's face was beet red, sweat was pouring off of her and her jaw was clenched.

"Is everyone off yet?" she asked, straining.

[Brigid Plunder]

"I hope Kay's alright..." she frowns, looking down into the water.

[Calvin Strong]

"Let 'er down," Cal confirmed.

[Kay Haddock]

Kay would slowly become visible in the murky water next to the pier as she gets closer to the shore (and thus the surface), still slowly dragging the chest after her.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley exhaled explosively, dropping her arms and the ship, before promptly fainting, Her knees buckling underneath her and falling to the ground

[Alex Carpenter]

The excess metal seemed to leak off Alex like water, anchoring onto the pier for security, before he let another tendril of it sprout off, flowing toward her in the water, leaving it there for her to grab onto instead of trying to grab her (or the chest) with it.

[Kay Haddock]

She grabs on to it.

[Alex Carpenter]

Alex started pulling her up, leaning over the edge by hand to help her haul up the chest, too.

[Calvin Strong]

Meanwhile, Cal sighed and, with no one else looking, started dragging Steve out of cover into the open to be picked up, then went back for Mercy, planning on carrying Haley out himself.

[Kay Haddock]

"Thanks..." Kay says, falling on her back next to the chest. "That better not be drugs in there."

[Mercy Wilkins]

Mercy is very dazed and out of it, and can easily be lead in whatever direction whoever is helping her wants to go. But slowly, she's burned, dazed, and exhausted, not a combination that will lead to fast moving.

[Alex Carpenter]

"So... uh... what now?" Alex asked, looking around.

[Roland Sackville]

"NOW, the lot of you get your asses back to campus before the police arrive. All of you. Take the crate, take my car if you need to, just get out of here before you get caught up in this," Roland said, arising from the sea like Ursula Andress.

[Alex Carpenter]

Alex swallowed. "That... is probably a good idea," he said, looking at the girls for confirmation.

[Regan Rourke]

Regan floats over to Kay, "Are you okay?"

[Alex Carpenter]

Alex, seeing Cal dragging the others out, sighed and started drawing the excess metal back into himself again. Better bulk up... "All right... let's go, gang," he said, starting toward the end of the dock.

[Kay Haddock]

"I'm fine. Is everyone else alright?"

[Alex Carpenter]

Alex looked down at the wounded friends of Roland's, then at the dazed and/or unconscious classmates off the dock, then back at Kay. "Let's just go with 'yes' for now and get back."

[Steve Jones]

Steve finally snapped out of his psychic fugue.

"Are we dead yet?" he groaned.
