[Kay Haddock]

She looks up, confused at Cal actually being nice to her, wiping her cheeks.

"I really don't have a crush on Brigid..."

[Calvin Strong]

"Seriously?" he said, obviously legitimately surprised as he sat down with the computer, frowning at the error message. He pulled out a couple flash drives, from his backpack, and a screwdriver, and proceeded to turn the laptop off and start taking it apart.

[Kay Haddock]

She nods. "Seriously." she sniffs.

[Calvin Strong]

Cal was, now, officially intrigued. "Then... why the comic? I mean, I'm the one with photoshop in my head and I don't even see her like that," he said as he opened up the bottom of the computer and pulling a circuit checker from his bag.

[Kay Haddock]

"I told you. I drew everyone in the comic like that."

[Calvin Strong]

"Yeah, but wh- ohhhhhh..." He paused, wincing as he set down the circuit tester. That's the last time I just run with something Haley guesses... "We're clear that I didn't actually say anything to anyone, right? I wasn't going to, either." Can't pull off the same trick twice.

[Kay Haddock]

"If you do I'm gonna feed you my laptop." she says but it just ends up sounding kinda pathetic.

[Calvin Strong]

"I'm not that much of an asshole," he said, screwing the base back onto the laptop and turning it back over. "But why... eh, nevermind, I know why you don't say anything."

[Kay Haddock]

"It'd just make everything suck."

[Calvin Strong]

"If you say so," Cal said, completely unsurely (of anything). He turned on the computer, pushing one of the flash drives into it as it booted up. "How old is this, by the way?"

[Kay Haddock]

"Couple years..." she says, trying not to feel bad next to someone who's eyes already cost more than everything she ever owned.

[Calvin Strong]

"Hm. It... Ought to be good. I don't know why it crashed in the first place, though, so I don't trust it..." He shook his head, closing it. "Go light on it for a while and I'll find some parts for it to make sure it's not counting down to die."

[Kay Haddock]

"Th-thanks." she says, taking the laptop. "I, uhm, I don't have any money for spare parts..."

[Calvin Strong]

"Yea, consider it covered by insurance or something," Cal said. "Wasn't your fault it got screwed up."

[Kay Haddock]

"What did you do to it anyway?"

[Calvin Strong]

"I have no damn clue. Even if I'd been using that thing on your computer, it only should've tried to get past a password or something," he said, nodding at the junked phone. "I mean, I was closer to it and it didn't mess me up."

[Kay Haddock]

"Why are you trying to hack me again?" she frowns.

[Calvin Strong]

"Okay first off, I've never hacked you. Second, I said 'if" I'd used it on the computer. I didn't. I mean you were using it. It wasn't even locked, how COULD I hack it?"

[Kay Haddock]

"I... I dunno. But someone used my email and I don't think it was Haley."

[Calvin Strong]

"Oh. Yeah, that. I just made it look like it came from your email. Never actually got into it."

[Kay Haddock]

"Oh... I didn't know you could do that."

[Calvin Strong]

"Depends on how you send it. Most webmail accounts won't let you for... Well, because of the sort of thing I did, I guess."

[Kay Haddock]

"Right. Well, thanks for fixing my computer." she says, trying her best to not be angry with Cal and succeeding for the most part.

[Calvin Strong]

He shrugged. "Thank me when I finish it. Looks like I'm the one who screwed it up, I mean."
