[The day after the detention debacle]

During office hours, Regan floats through Nailah's door.

"I want art supplies," Regan says directly as she hovers above one of the chairs.

"...I'm willing to negotiate terms."

"That sounds promising. Do go on." Nailah says before looking up at Regan.

"Nice try." Nailah says and turns her attention back to the essays she's grading.

"Fine. 15% and I stop trying to lure people off the cliffs with my haunting song," Regan says, looking annoyed.

"This isn't a debate. It's a negotiation," Regan says, "And you're really bad at it."

"The way I see it, you're asking to skip 85% of your classes. I'm still waiting for you to actually negotiating and offer me something."

Regan shrugs, "Just thought I'd offer."

With that she disappears through the floor.

Nailah faintly shakes her head though there's the hint of a smirk on her face.

When Regan gets back to her room she'll find art supplies on a table next to her regular school supplies, placed within symbols and geometric shapes that are etched into the wood.

((Days Later))

It was around midnight when Regan floated through the ceiling into Nailah's office.

Nailah's office is, predictably, empty.

Regan floats over to the bookshelf, investigating Nailah's tastes in literature for a moment before turning to Nailah's desk. Floating over, she takes a piece of ghost paper out of her pocket and carefully puts it in the center of the desk. Then she headed back up towards the ceiling.

Once unfolded, the paper would be revealed to be a drawing of Nailah tearing out the throat of a guy in a toga. Underneath it was written, "While technically correct, Oedipus was still eaten for wording his answer in a way that supported the patriarchy."

The next day Nailah finds the note and, with no one around to witness it, can't help but faintly shake her head and chuckle.
