Coming Up For Air

[Wanda Johansen]

Wanda stretched out on the grass rather stiffly. Earlier she'd helped replace some heavy HVAC equipment. The spaces for some of that equipment wasn't really built for someone her size, but built even less for lifting equipment. So now she was dirty and sweaty and desperately in need of the open spaces she was now occupying.

((Open))

[Ayami Morita]

"A little frustrated, are we?" a voice said from behind her.

[Wanda Johansen]

"A little bit," Wanda admitted, tilting her head backwards to see who was speaking.

[Ayami Morita]

The rainbow-haired girl was there, hands on her hips.

"Yeah, I could tell. There's a bit of a bitter aftertaste all around here."

[Wanda Johansen]

"My apologies," Wanda said sincerely. "I just spent two hours lugging heavy equipment through cramped spaces."

[Ayami Morita]

"Ugh. Why'd they make you do it?"

[Wanda Johansen]

"Because I can and because getting proper lifting gear through those spaces would be even harder."

[Ayami Morita]

"Still, there are people 'round here who can do it with, like, their brains and stuff. Seems a waste to make you haul things 'round."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Yes, but those people don't work on the maintenance staff. I do," Wanda said with a shrug. "Like all jobs there are good days and there are bad. This was just one of the bad."

[Ayami Morita]

"Bleh. Well, screw 'em, amirite?"

[Wanda Johansen]

"Today, yes," Wanda said. "How are you doing, Ayami?"

[Ayami Morita]

"Oh, you know. Not enough time to do everything, y'know?"

[Wanda Johansen]

"That seems to be a somewhat universal problem."

[Ayami Morita]

"Yeah, unfortunately. Plus, it's been so glum around here -- I mean, not for no reason, but still."

[Wanda Johansen]

"I've even noticed it and that's saying something."

[Ayami Morita]

"Why d'you say that? You usually out of it or somethin'?"

[Wanda Johansen]

"Just not paying as much attention as I should I guess is how I'd say it."

[Ayami Morita]

"What'dya mean by that?"

[Wanda Johansen]

"You know, it's really not important. Just my own stupidity."

[Ayami Morita]

"Pfft. You don't look stupid to me."

[Wanda Johansen]

"I'm not. People seem to think I'm slow because of my size though."

[Ayami Morita]

"What, like, mentally slow? Pfft. That's dumb."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Exactly. Though it has made me try not to assume too much about others."

[Ayami Morita]

"Well, you ARE roughly the tallest person I've ever met. Maybe with the exception of the lizard."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Not even roughly. I'm a decent bit taller than John. He's a good guy though, so I try not to pat him on the head when I walk by."

[Ayami Morita]

"Hah, I'm sure he'd appreciate THAT."

[Wanda Johansen]

"He also has scary teeth, so best not to antagonize him too much."

[Ayami Morita]

"Eh, they're not THAT bad," she grinned, conspiratorially.

[Wanda Johansen]

"Is that... personal... experience talking?" Wanda smirked.

[Ayami Morita]

"Mayyyyyyyybe."

[Wanda Johansen]

"You can neither confirm nor deny, etc. etc." Wanda said, chuckling.

[Ayami Morita]

"A lady never tells," she grinned.

[Wanda Johansen]

"That's fine," Wanda held up a hand, "I really don't want details."

[Ayami Morita]

Ayami just laughed at that. "Fine, fine."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Just some things man, or in this case woman, was not meant to know."

[Ayami Morita]

"Fair enough, fair enough."
