[Danger Room] Adrenaline Junkies need love too.

The site of the recently restored Braddock Lighthouse. Aircraft hangars and other X-Men facilities, including a Cerebra unit and the Danger Room have been constructed around the foundations of the lighthouse.

[Danger Room] Adrenaline Junkies need love too.

Anita strolls into the danger room in a X-Team uniform that has a belt with a gurkha knife on it. She pulls the knife and flips it idly in the air, staring at the blank walls of the room.

"Computer uh... do I still have my stuff saved?"

"Unclear command. Status of account Fernandez, Anita, active. Returned from hiatus. All settings saved. Custom scenario settings saved. In-progress scenarios wiped."

"Huh, so I guess that means... yes? Load the bank robbery one, but pause it, I gotta decide how ta do this with just one person."

"Scenario loading.... loaded. Scenario paused."

The danger room is replaced with a section of generic cityscape, with Anita placed in front of a large bank. It's well populated with people and cars, all frozen at the moment. Anita considers, chewing her lip.

"Well the best way's to NOT do it with just one person," Ryan chuckled as he walked up. He idly pressed his thumb to the access panel, letting it register his clearances so that the scenario wouldn't drop to sub-X-Men levels.

"Ryan!" Anita sheaths the knife in a flash, and runs over to give him a hug and a quick European style kiss on both cheeks. "I missed you and your big... floppy.... wings."

She grins, eyes sparkling as she breaks the embrace. "So ya'll want in on stoppin' a bank robbery?"

"Heh, there's nothing floppy about me and you know it," he teased, returning the hug. "Bank robbery, huh? No Sentinel shoot-out today?"

"I ain't really got anti-sentinal powers. Anything that's buildin' sized is pretty me-proof. Pretty good against most mutants though. So it's badguy mutants in this scenario, unless it ain't. Computer picks it, but mosta the choices are mutants."

"We'll, I guess I can't go getting rusty, now, can I?" He joked. "Sure. Lets stop a bank robbery."

"Just like when we were on Team 1 tagether. Well we didn't really stop bank robberies. It was more like, messed up magic critters and stuff."

Anita looks around. "Well the way the scenario works, is the thing's already in progress. With us two here, I'm thinkin' I go in an' flush em out, then you drop on em from above?"

"Sounds good to me," Ryan said. "I'm not all that much use on the inside anyway. Ceilings are my secret weakness."

"Ceilings, and paternity test shows." Anita winks, and then goes into a crouch.

"Computer, start the thing!"

"Custom command recognized. Scenario starting in five, four, three, two, one..."

As time 'unfreezes' Anita goes sprinting off toward the bank. The eerie peace of frozen people gives way to chaos as police sirens wail on approach, and people cluster up to gawk at the bank, traffic starts honking like crazy.

"Yeah, I know. Those damned paternity tests, I never pass 'em," Ryan quipped. As the scene appears, he takes to the sky, getting enough altitude to do a loop around the bank to scope out the exits and see what the layout with the police presence was.

The press of cars and people are leaving several key avenues open, Ryan doesn't think the cops will be able to block them all in time. The police are muscling their way down the main roads but the alleyway behind the bank, and a small side-street nearby are both too blocked for the cops to get to quickly.

The bank is a sturdy, multi-story affair, it's got a back door to the alleyway, and there's some broken glass on the ground that looks like a window was broken out on the side facing the side street. From the air, he can't see any of the robbers, at least not yet. It might be possible to scare people off to let the cops in toward one of those exit points, or Ryan may want to stay on point and ready for action, easy to get distracted while herding civilians.

The alleyway looks like it lets out toward a nice open road, with access to a freeway a ways down it. If the robbers got on that road with a vehicle, they'd be gone in short order.

The side street heads toward a subway entrance, which again, could make things really difficult, really fast.

-----

In the meantime, Anita charges up the bank steps, and goes right through a window feet first. There are a couple of gunshots but Ryan doesn't think they could possibly have a bead on her yet. Probably the robbers were just firing out of surprise and panic at Anita's entrance. Likely not very well-prepared, well-hardened criminals then.

Ryan continued circling the bank, though he did dip down toward the street to see if he could get a peek inside. He wasn't expecting much, granted. The cops, he decided, could handle their own deal, and they rarely thanked superheroes for doing anything involving civilians other than 'save them from explicit danger'.

More shots ring out, and then Ryan sees a big black duffel go out that broken window and land on the ground. A guy in a black ski mask and scruffy clothes goes out after it, landing on the bag and rolling off.

By the time he can get into any kind of good angle on that window, a second man will be climbing out, holding on to the window before he drops.

They're not exactly ex-KGB here, but they are still armed with what look like pistols and sub-machine guns, so some caution might be good. Also, the first guy who hopped out is really, really broad in the body. Maybe too much so to be simply human.

Fortunately, alleys don't make for good mobility as compared to, well, the sky. Ryan lined up, taking a run along the alley, firing a steady blast of energy ahead of him to catch the robbers as they emerged. He could always, after all, just veer to one side to use the buildings for cover if they managed to open fire or if, amazingly, he missed them.
