The Gardens: Mohavea confertiflora

[Regan Rourke]

During a study period, Regan drifted out to the Gardens and floated around lazily for awhile before settling down on a bench near some rose bushes.

[Isabel Galen]

"Hey." Isabel said, walking up "This bench taken?"

[Regan Rourke]

"Only by my many imaginary friends."

[Isabel Galen]

"Awesome." Isabel said, sitting down.

[Regan Rourke]

"So. What's your deal?"

[Isabel Galen]

"Wanting to do my homework in what passes for sunshine. You?"

[Regan Rourke]

"Trying to haunt the rose bushes," Regan says, "...I think it's too sunny out."

[Isabel Galen]

"Try lilies." Isabel said "They'd be more awesome for haunting."

[Regan Rourke]

"Totally overdone," Regan says, "You know what'd be awesome? Daffodils. Or sunflowers."

[Isabel Galen]

"Or tulips."

[Regan Rourke]

"Or a DMV," Regan says, "That would be awesome."

[Isabel Galen]

"Yeah, but if the DMV was haunted by a vengeful spirit, who would be able to tell?"

[Regan Rourke]

"That's what makes it so brilliant," Regan says, "It's like phantom performance art."

[Isabel Galen]

"Or its totally pointless, which makes it like real life."

[Regan Rourke]

"That's why the best art is pointless," Regan says.

[Isabel Galen]

"Who wants art that is just like real life?" Isabel said "All that daily, petty, surface bullshit sucks."

[Regan Rourke]

"Exactly," Regan says, "That's what makes it awesome. It's stupid, fucking petty bullshit, so you shove it in people's faces. Make them choke on it while you laugh."

"Like mixing paint with ground beef, so that the painting rots when its displayed," Regan says.

[Isabel Galen]

"I'd rather make something that isn't bullshit."

[Regan Rourke]

"Suit yourself," Regan says with a shrug.

[Isabel Galen]

"Yeah." Isabel said "I will, thanks."

[Regan Rourke]

"Down, girl," Regan says, "It's just differing artistic perspectives. Ain't nothing to lose your chill over."

[Isabel Galen]

"Sorry." Isabel said "I'm just struggling with writer's block right now. Its kind of made me sensitive."

[Regan Rourke]

"Have you tried human sacrifice?"

[Aisha Khan]

"Does that work?"

[Regan Rourke]

"It's never failed me yet."

[Isabel Galen]

"Ok, now you're just shitting me."

[Regan Rourke]

"The hardest part is finding a proper altar," Regan continues, "They're very expensive."

[Isabel Galen]

"I have been kind of thinking about that." Isabel said.
