Picking Herbs

Raven had a book on English herbs out from work, and was going through the fields with, litereally, a magnifying glass, identifying things and picking them.

[Violet Turner]

Having become a little lost on her explorations, Violet smiled curiously to find someone else wandering through this part of the campus. From an adjacent pathway she calls out "Finally, extermination services thorough enough to be proud of" The joke was a poor one and she winced to hear herself say it.

"...what?" Raven said, utterly confused.

[Violet Turner]

Violet blushes stammering an explanation "it was a joke, you know like" she starts to mime her actions as she speaks, holding her hand out and closing one eye as though she were peering through a magnifying glass "you're going through the plants with a fine tooth comb, pulling all the bugs off and-" she stops short chuckling as she gives up. "I am not funny, hi. I'm Violet"

"...ok, hi! I'm Raven!" she said, still a little puzzled, but not letting that throw her off her game.

[Violet Turner]

"Nice to meet you" Violet answered, fidgeting in place. Gesturing towards the magnifying glass she asks "whatcha doing?"

[Trini Thompson]

"I am searching for certain herbs and plants. Cheaper if I can find them growing here on campus, y'know?"

[Violet Turner]

Smiling, Violet nods enthusiastically "That's actually a really good idea. You making anything in particular or just stocking up?" She toys absent-mindedly with a the leaves of the plant before her though she has no way of knowing what the girl might be looking for.

[Trini Thompson]

"Oh, just some elixirs and potions. Mostly taking inventory at the moment, though."

[Violet Turner]

Startled by the sudden buzzing of her cell-phone, Violet pats at the pockets of her purse, trying to locate the offending device. "Forgive me for interrupting you" she says quickly. "Just trying to get a handle on who's who. It was lovely meeting you"

[Trini Thompson]

"Yes indeed! You weren't interrupting a'tall."

[Violet Turner]

Gratefully, Violet waves with one hand. With the other she flips her phone open "Hello? No I haven't finished it yet. I told you I'm slow" the conversation fades as the girl makes her way down the path and the peace of the garden is restored.

"What a strange person," Raven said, continuing on her way.
