Sept. 21: somewhere between campus and Amanda's flat

[Stan Bowen]

Stan was on his way after dark, hoping to catch Amanda at home.

Smiling, he turned the corner, looking forward to the rendezvous.

[Narrator]

Silently, two vampires dropped down from the trees landing on either side of him.

[Stan Bowen]

Stan paused, eyes darting from one to the other.

"May I help you?" he asked, keeping his cool.

[Narrator]

"Oh, I think you can." one of the vampires said, closing the distance between them and grabbing for his shoulder.

[Stan Bowen]

"Don't do this.." He started, wrenching free of the grab attempt.

[Narrator]

"Why not?" The other vampire said, grasping Stan's arm with super-human strength and twisting it behind his back "Play nice and come with us, old man."

[Stan Bowen]

"No. I'm not going anywhere with you two."

Stan's arm was getting quite hot to the vampire's touch.

[Narrator]

"I think that you are." the first vampire said, sliding an inhibitor collar around Stan's neck.

"Not so tough without his little girlfriend, is he?" the second one said, although he winced a little at the head, he didn't let go.

[Stan Bowen]

As soon as the inhibitor collar snapped shut, the heat quickly dissipated as Stan suddenly felt quite drained.

"In.. inhibitor collars? What.."

[Narrator]

"Yes, an inhibitor collar." the first vampire said with a smirk "Just to keep you from getting too feisty."

"Although this one doesn't have much fight in him, does he, Berenice?" the second vampire said.

"No, he doesn't Judas. Mores the pity, but we weren't getting his one for food, now were we." the first vampire said, picking him up.

"Obviously not." Judas replied "He's far too old and stringy. They're better with some juice still left in them."

"Still, orders are orders." Berenice added, heading towards a waiting van.

[Stan Bowen]

"Ugg.."

Stan, unnoticed by the two vamps, was able to press a red button on the new watch on his left wrist.

Then, as he got dizzy again, he cursed himself for underestimating his opponents.

[Narrator]

The vampires didn't notice Stan pressing the panic button, but there would be a limited time for the school to track it before the signal reached a destination in Mutant Town and then vanished.
