Post-midnight snacking

Up until recently maintained as a museum, the childhood home of the Braddock family has been pressed into service as additional housing and classroom space for the Institute. Additionally, the increased demands have led to the main ballroom being converted into a cafeteria for both the Institute and those University students on a meal plan. Student reactions have been mixed, and reports of paranormal activity are as of yet unsubstantiated.

"Completely," Cal murmured, his eyes closed for the moment. Right now, he was lying on the couch with a girl, who'd kissed because, apparently, she'd wanted him to kiss her. He completely cleared out his visuals, focusing his world for a moment just down to the two of them, on the most human that he'd felt for more than a year.

This, of course, ended with the first new system message that scrolled across the periphery of his vision. But it was still nice while it lasted.

"Our movie is over but I'm not tired," she said adjusting to be curled up next to Cal on the couch. "Want to try that some more?" she whispered in his ear playfully.

And she would be rewarded for the suggestion by seeing Cal turn bright red. He swallowed, then tried to talk normally. "I... um... well... yes." The key word, after all, was 'tried.''

He shifted as well, nervously wrapping his arm over her... then leaned in and kissed her. He wasn't the greatest, but he obviously wasn't clueless, and had promise.

Haley was a patient tutor, starting slow with Cal's French kissing "lessons," and she was only too eager to let them continue for a very long time.

And Cal was an eager learner, finally finding a use for his ability to analyze reactions, although figuring out how a girl liked best to be kissed probably wasn't a very scientific procedure. Oddly, the longer they kissed, Haley might notice a very slight tingling feeling from it in her lips and tongue.

Haley didn't seem to notice anything unusual--she was pretty caught up with kissing a new hot guy, and for all she could tell, her mouth was just getting tired. Cal might notice that he was having some pretty... vivid...fantasies while kissing her. His systems would probably notice that they were coming from Haley, though it was unclear if they were intentional or not.

Cal was confused for a moment at the thoughts, but it was easy to figure out what was up after a moment. Smirking slightly, he decided to be bold (although how bold IS it when you KNOW someone wants you to do it?), picked one of the tamer fantasies (some things aren't meant to be acted on by teenagers, after all) and running with it.

Haley was a bit surprised when Cal did something that she'd been daydreaming about just a second ago, but then she had a sudden realization of why that might be, and she hesitated, pushing his hand away gently.

"I...sorry. Kinda...got a bit carried away there and I guess you got to hear that too..." she said sheepishly, resting her forehead on Cal's shoulder. "I...promise I'm not as um...crazy as some of those dreams might have made me seem."

Cal sheepishly kept his hand in... polite places as he settled in with her. "I'm sorry," he answered. "I...thought that you were doing that to ask, and... um, sorry. And that's cool, don't worry."

And oh my god how are you seeing me. Seriously, who bugs the common room. HAL, run a sweep for video feeds.

The sweep comes back empty. At least for camera-feeds. There is a huge data-stream of unknown composition though.

"No, that's fine," Cal said quickly. "I mean..." Shit. Well, she looks like she's feeling dumb, so I'd better own up. He sighed. "...It's not like I really knew what I was doing anyway, I just... didn't want you to get bored. I mean... the last girl I tried to get close to said that if she wanted to get cozy with a machine she'd go buy a vibrator, so..." He shrugged, looking nervously back at her.

Masking this data would be tricky just from the sheer volume so tracking it is relatively simple. Not that it makes any sense either but it's coming from somewhere in the Mansion. The basement from the looks of it.

He smiled, reflecting for a minute that this was, thankfully, quite a change from her just-been-sobbing state that she'd come to the kitchen in. "Yeah, me too," he said quietly.

He shook his head. "Passing out is a no-go too, so it's all... regulated," he said, as if the sound of the word 'regulated' bugged him. "Upshot is, I only need about four hours. Downside, it's all super-deep, so no dreaming."

"And... thanks," he said, his smile fading to something more serious. "And... if you have trouble sleeping just give me a text, okay?"
