Gideon was sitting on the roof of the dorm building watching the mutant gathering taking place in the garden. He wasn't comfortable with the idea of interacting with actual heroes coming home and new/old students.

Claire stepped out onto the roof for a smoke, pausing when she saw Gideon.

"Oh, hey," Claire says, "Didn't think anyone was up here."

[Gideon Rede]

"There's something about rooftops and schools for mutants," Gideon said, "So you're probably not going to be alone up here all that often."

"Not big on parties, eh?"

[Claire McKenna]

"Nah, I love parties," Claire says, "I just like 'em on my own terms."

[Gideon Rede]

"Whats wrong with the terms of this one?" Gideon asked.

[Claire McKenna]

"Too weepy," Claire says, flicking her cigarette.

[Gideon Rede]

"I certainly preferred the after mission parties that involved spending the night in a pub," Gideon said, "We never pulled a Lazarus though."

[Claire McKenna]

"Eh, I'm sure they'll hit the pub up eventually," Claire says, "Gotta have a friendly party for the new kiddies though."

[Gideon Rede]

"One of the reasons I'm up here," Gideon said, "Don't need to make the kids any more terrified than they likely already are, eh."

[Claire McKenna]

"You'd probably be less scary if you weren't lurking on a rooftop, watching people," Claire points out.

[Gideon Rede]

"Maybe," Gideon said, "Might be they are bit too busy to look up. There are some far more interesting things on the ground to gawk at than the people smoking on the roof, eh?"

[Claire McKenna]

"Like all the people back from the dead? Probably," Claire says.

[Gideon Rede]

"You stop being surprised after the first couple times," Gideon said, "Then again lots of strange things start to become routine at schools like these."

[Claire McKenna]

"Yeah, I don't think so," Claire says, "It's still pretty weird."

[Gideon Rede]

Gideon chuckled.

"Give it another year or two," Gideon said, "Then you'll be just as unimpressed as me."

[Claire McKenna]

"If you're not impressed by dead people coming back to life, I think it's safe to say that you're the weird one."

[Gideon Rede]

"We've all got our quirks, eh?" Gideon said with a shrug.

[Claire McKenna]

"Nope," Claire says, "It's probably just you."

[Gideon Rede]

"Really?" Gideon smiled. "That must be boring."

[Claire McKenna]

"Yeah, stability and appropriate reactions to events. Truly, the boring life," Claire deadpans.

[Gideon Rede]

"Truly," Gideon said. "I'm Gideon by the way. I don't think we've ever met."

[Claire McKenna]

"Probably not," Claire says, "I'm Claire."

[Gideon Rede]

"Do you know who I was?" Gideon asked looking at Claire.

[Claire McKenna]

"Nobody?"

[Gideon Rede]

Gideon looked at Claire strangely for a moment.

"Suppose I am," Gideon said.

"Glad to see we've moved beyond thunderdome," Claire says, taking a drag off her cigarette.

"Do we both get to leave?" Gideon asked.

[Claire McKenna]

"Do I look like a man to you?"

[Gideon Rede]

"You could be any number of things," Gideon said, "But I suppose I should be grateful. Means I don't have to die today."

"No, you get to live to stalk people another day," Claire says.

[Gideon Rede]

"Much to everybody's amusement or maybe their horror," Gideon said.
