Ryan walked down around the building, walking like a person who was tyring to pretend he was having no problems walking. He got himself outside his window, and saw that it was closed. Shit.

He sighed, then cocked his wings, finding them heavier than he remembered. He lit up brightly, fighting against the unnatural fatigue in his limbs.

God... DAMN it, he thought, grabbing at the strap outside the window, hanging from it as he beat his wings, shoving at it with his other arm. "Dammit, dammit, dammit," he grunted, kicking off the wall. Finally, he yanked himself through, tumbling through on the floor. "Ow. Shit," he grunted, pushing himself fumblingly to his feet.

Ryan shrugged. "There are two options. You can get all depressed about the lower life expectancy, or you can live with it. I picked the latter. I mean... if you're going to get all depressed, this isn't the line of work for you."

Ryan chuckled slightly. "It's all right. Honesty is the best policy, I just don't broadcast that honesty all the time." He sighed, shaking his head. "And... thanks for staying," he said, a bit reluctantly. "I'm probably physically fit enough, but after all the crap that happened tonight, I really don't want to be alone right now."
