"Not gettin' it, are ya. You're leaving now because you're pissing me off!" he grunts, walking up to them and reaching out to grab Sam's arm.

Samantha made eye-contact and reached deep into the man's mind to try to dredge out pure, primal fear.

The man's eyes go wide and he recoils from Sam. "Get away from me! Help!" he almost screams as he scrambles into the crowd. And even though they don't know what's happening they can clearly tell that something is happening and if Sam is dancing with a mutant the mental leap to 'She's a mutant too' isn't too big.

"Hey, stop that!"

"Yeah, leave him alone you freak!"

"Get them!"

Needless to say that the atmosphere around them is close to the boiling point now.

"Maybe we should call it a night, Sam..." Nailah says quietly, trying hard not to hide behind Sam.

"Yeah, listen to your monster-friend!"

And around this time another bottle flies and this time it hits Nailah in the side of her head.

Struggling to contain her anger, Samantha sent out a broad wave of simple guilt as she tried to make sure Nailah was okay.

Nailah was swaying a little and there was a small trickle of blood but aside from being rather disoriented and shaken she seems okay. Meanwhile the broad scope and the fact that a lot of the people around them are quite drunk seems to lessen the effect Sam has on them. Here and there someone looks guilty and worried as if suddenly realizing what's happening but most of them don't seem to back down. Mumbles of "Had it coming..." and "Should have just left..." are coming from the crowd drunkenly rationalizing their behaviour. One guy steps forward to look at Nailah and make sure she's okay but someone from the crowd holds him back rather harshly.

There's a couple of choice insults thrown after them but nothing else. As they leave the bouncer looks at them with an expression somewhere between pity and annoyance.

"Alright," Sam said as she let Nailah into the dorm room, "you just sit tight. I'm going to go wet a washcloth."

"Okay..." she nods a bit too vigorously, immediately regretting that and holding her head as she sits down.

She fetched a washcloth and scurried out to the communal bathroom to wet it down, returning with it.

"Do you want some ice?"

She doesn't say anything and just leans into Sam, trying hard not to let what happened get to her. Deep down though she's scared half to death.
