I10DT - Room 309 - I'm Back

[Wanda Johansen]

Wanda had gone to Tala's room almost as soon as she'd gotten back, which meant she was still wearing the sling on her arm. She knocked and waited patiently.

[Tala Davis]

"Thank you, Grumpy Fluffkins. No surprises with you around." Tala said from behind the door. She opened and her smile quickly appeared.

"Oh thank god, you're standing on your own! What what what? Spill." She opened the door wide as she indicated to the sling.

[Wanda Johansen]

"Took a bad tumble in the fight at the Institute and messed up my shoulder. I'm going to go get one of the healers to take a look at it later." She smiled as she entered. "Could have been a lot worse."

[Tala Davis]

"Oh yes. It can always be worse. I'm very glad that was all. Jet lagging?" She cleared off her emergency pack from the bed and tossed the pillows on the floor for Wanda.

"I really need to get you a proper chair for in here."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Pillows are fine," Wanda said. "And not too much at the moment. It'll probably hit me like a ton of bricks though."

[Tala Davis]

"You may be able to beg an excuse to sleep for a week. I may need it." She chuckled.

[Wanda Johansen]

"I slept a little bit on the flight back, so I'm good. I was going to see if you wanted to go to dinner."

[Tala Davis]

"You know me, I can always eat." She chuckled.

[Wanda Johansen]

"Good. I was thinking about going back to that Indian restaurant we went to earlier in the summer."

[Tala Davis]

"I'll grab my shoes and bag." She did just that, dumping the contents of her duffel on tot he bed and retrieving her phone, keys and wallet.

[Wanda Johansen]

Wanda managed to get up, "My treat tonight."

***** Some time later... *****

After a filling dinner, Wanda walked Tala back to her room. "Thanks for going to dinner with me. I hate eating by myself."

[Tala Davis]

"I know. I always get odd looks when I order enough for three when I'm alone and I can now. The "kids" have been behaving and we've been running most nights. No freshman 15 for this girl."

[Wanda Johansen]

"You'd still be pretty even with a freshman 15, so I wouldn't worry too much about it."

[Tala Davis]

"Well, someone has to make up the other end of the height charts. Not every one can be a Norse Goddess." She made a face at Wanda.

[Wanda Johansen]

"Did you just make a height joke about me? Because I can still pick you up one handed, small and feisty or not," she said with a good natured laugh.

[Tala Davis]

"And what would to do with me once you did? Never underestimate the tiny."

[Wanda Johansen]

Wanda bent down and scooped her up with her good arm. "Now that I've got you, I can figure out what to do with you."

[Tala Davis]

"Yeep! Just don't drop me." She circled her arms around Wanda's neck and shoulders.

[Wanda Johansen]

"You know me better than that. I would never drop you."

[Tala Davis]

"I know." She smiled and held on.

"Where're you planning on depositing me? Who needs to get their keys out?"

[Wanda Johansen]

"You know I hadn't thought that far ahead," she said, just looking at Tala.

[Tala Davis]

"I suppose we can just stand in the hallway, but we're going to attract a lot of attention very soon." Tala chuckled and kissed Wanda.

[Wanda Johansen]

Wanda blinked, but didn't pull away. Instead she closed her eyes and her knees seemed to go a little weak and she ended up leaning against the wall so that she didn't drop Tala.

[Tala Davis]

Finally Tala pulled away. "So...was that a good thing or a bad thing?"

[Wanda Johansen]

Wanda opened her eyes, "Oh, it was good... very good."

[Tala Davis]

"Good to know." She hugged Wanda tightly.

"I've been wondering what that would be like for a while now."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Was it what you expected?"

[Tala Davis]

"Much nicer."

[Wanda Johansen]

"So... what now?" Wanda's smile was threatening to break her face.

[Tala Davis]

"Coffee/cocoa in one of our rooms with a bad movie on a laptop?"

[Wanda Johansen]

"Sounds wonderful," Wanda said. "Your room or mine?"

[Tala Davis]

"Yours, but you'll have to let me down so you can unlock your door."

[Wanda Johansen]

"Oh, right," she said sheepishly, lowering Tala back to the floor.
