DT10 - Decontamination.

[Michael Asters]

While Izzy's cell was under biological quarentine, Cassiel came through rather uncaringly, his telekinetic field keeping the air around him free of contaminants. "Ms. Galen," he said, professionally.

[Isabel Galen]

Isabel, laying on the bed with her face to the wall, didn't answer.

[Michael Asters]

"I'm here to evaluate your current state in the aftermath of Apocalypse's defeat," he said, taking a seat on the room's chair. "When we have evaluated your current situation, we can establish when you can be released, and what measures need to be taken prior to and following your release."

[Isabel Galen]

"Thats nice."

[Michael Asters]

Cassiel made a note on his clipboard. "Subject displays flippant attitude at concerns over her mental state," he murmured as he wrote it, definitely loud enough to hear.

[Isabel Galen]

Isabel raised a hand, middle finger extended, but didn't otherwise reply.

[Michael Asters]

"You might be happy to know," he said mildly, "That we managed to treat most of the people you harmed at the airport on the scene. There were a few children who are still being observed for complications, and an eighty-two year old woman who was there to meet her granddaughter who needed to be hospitalized for recovery that our healers couldn't provide, among a few others, but about eighty percent of them won't have any long-term effects from this encounter."

Isabel started to cry.

[Michael Asters]

"Subject displays remorse at the reality of her actions," he added, making a note of it as well. "So... was it all worth it, then? Or are you ready to work with us to make sure it doesn't happen again?"

[Isabel Galen]

Isabel, with some difficulty, managed to take control of her emotions and said "The last time someone came up to me and offered to make my life better, well, you'll forgive me if I don't want to try it again."

[Michael Asters]

"Stop that," Cassiel said, coldly. "You let a madman use you to further his twisted goals. Don't try pretending that is even remotely the same as helping you deal with what's happened. Self-pity is what started this mess, is it not?"

[Isabel Galen]

"And its also going to end it." Isabel replied, coldly

[Michael Asters]

"If that's what you insist," Cassiel said. "Look straight at me, and clear your mind. I'm going to check for any further brainwashing or mental triggers that might be in place."

[Isabel Galen]

"And if I don't?"

[Michael Asters]

"Were you under the impression that this was a matter that you have a choice in?"

[Isabel Galen]

"Just thought I'd ask."

[Michael Asters]

"Given what all of you are capable of, we aren't willing to take the chance that there is something lingering that will come out when we don't expect it to cause more trouble. Now relax, and this won't be more than a little uncomfortable."

[Isabel Galen]

Isabel sat up, looked at him, but didn't relax.

[Michael Asters]

While it wasn't going to be fun for her if she was tense, it wasn't going to be actively unpleasant unless she resisted. Cassiel was well-acquainted with the various methods of putting in mental triggers, brainwashing, and other such nasty means of conditioning that could be lingering and what to look for.

[Isabel Galen]

Isabel didn't fight, but she obviously wasn't thrilled to have him inside of her mind.

[Michael Asters]

Cassiel didn't hold back, but he wasn't trying to be rough, just to do a thorough job. Finally, satisfied, he withdrew, settling back in his seat to look her over. "Well, we don't have to worry about lingering brainwashing, at least," he said, regarding her neutrally.

[Isabel Galen]

"Nope."

[Michael Asters]

"Which leaves us with the slight problem that there didn't seem to be much there to start with."

[Isabel Galen]

"Yeah, I guess."

[Michael Asters]

"If you want me to think you don't care, then by all means," he said. "What I'm interested in is your honest reaction to this, though."

[Isabel Galen]

"My honest reaction is that you don't want me outside of a cell for a long fucking time, and I agree with you."

[Michael Asters]

"Well, that you can see that is definitely a good sign," he admitted. "So... where to go from here is a good question, at least. I'm going to send the school's psychologist to see you. You're going to be seeing quite a lot of him before you get out of here, understood?"

[Isabel Galen]

"Is he as much of an asshole as you?"

[Michael Asters]

"No, it's pretty much his job not to be. Just like it's pretty much my job to be."

[Isabel Galen]

"Good to know."

[Michael Asters]

"Are you always this abrasive, or are you just hoping that you can get us to give up on you so that you can give up yourself?" he countered.

[Isabel Galen]

"A little of column A and a little of column B"
