[John Hino]

"Ugh. I hope I'm never that guy."

[Kaylee Williams]

She laughed softly and snuggled up against John. "I'm sure you wouldn't be. Either way, I'm glad you're feeling better overall. I mean..the whole emotions thing..." She remembered Ayami and how wild all that was. "Just know, you're safe to tell me however you feel about anything."

[John Hino]

"I know... it's just... I'd closed myself off so long it all feels a bit new."

[Kaylee Williams]

"Things will ease up in time. Just make sure you put them out there more. Wear them on your sleeves a little." She looked up at the ceiling. "Let''s see. Tell me about a time where you've been the happiest you could be or one where you've been super proud about something you've accomplished."

[John Hino]

"Well... I built this cool wrist computer thing while you were away. I was proud of that. Does that count?"

[Kaylee Williams]

"I don't know. You tell me." She smiled. "Is it the first time you've ever made something like that? Was there some sort of hardship you couldn't figure out that you managed to overcome?"

[John Hino]

"It was the first, but... I guess I didn't really challenge myself that much..."

[Kaylee Williams]

"Either way, it does sound pretty cool. You'll have to show me it." She sat up. "Can you think about a time you were really happy?"

[John Hino]

"The time my mom took me trick-or-treating," he smiled. He had told Dr. Webster the same story, but it was true.

[Kaylee Williams]

"That must of been fun. What costumes were you two wearing?"

[John Hino]

"I was a dragon, naturally, and she was an angel."

[Kaylee Williams]

She smiled, trying to picture it. "That sounds so cute. What made it so nice? Had she not gone trick or treating with you before and it was the first time?"

[John Hino]

"It... was the first time my father allowed it..."

[Kaylee Williams]

"Father allowed it..? Is it one of those cultural things? Or something else...dangerous?" She asked, not quite sure why it was that big of a deal.

[John Hino]

"I... had thought he was just really overprotective," he said, "But... he did have enemies."

[Kaylee Williams]

"Yea.." She ran a hand up and down along John's stomach. She figured to turn things back to the happier times. "It's nice you got to experience that with her though. Did you manage to score a lot of candy?"

[John Hino]

"Enough to make me sick," he grinned. "Totally worth it."

[Kaylee Williams]

"Awesome. As it should be.." She nodded. "Sounds like a good memory."

[John Hino]

"Yeah..." he smiled

"But... well... if we ever... you know... have kids..." he said awkwardly, realizing halfway through that it was way too soon to be bringing that up, "I promise I won't be my father."

[Kaylee Williams]

It might of been awkward but considering how their future was, what he said just made her smile brightly. She reached over and grabbed his hand, giving it a light squeeze. "I believe you."

"Also, I'm pretty sure that if our kids get either of our mutations they're probably gonna be just fine."

[John Hino]

"Well I'll still worry."

[Kaylee Williams]

"True. Of course as parents, we always will." Her mind lingers on the idea of children..she honestly never thought about it.

[John Hino]

"It is in the job description, isn't it?"

[Kaylee Williams]

"True enough." She lowered her head, starting to blush a little. "Little weird thinking about.."

[John Hino]

"I know... sorry..." he said. Definitely awkward.

[Kaylee Williams]

"Don't be sorry. It's weird because I just never thought about having kids..or a family really. Especially, after my mutation appeared..I really didn't think it'd be possible." She nudged John with her elbow. "Not because it'd be with you or where we are in the relationship now. "

[John Hino]

"I honestly never have before either... and I've put a lot of thought into my future. At least the professional part."

[Kaylee Williams]

She rested her head against his shoulder. "So, what's bringing this up so much? The memory of your mom?"

[John Hino]

"Her and my father both, actually..."

[Kaylee Williams]

"I know you'll be a good father." She smiled.

"So, what would you like to do now?"

[John Hino]

He thought for a moment.

"How does getting dinner strike you?"

[Kaylee Williams]

"Works for me." She says. She's usually always hungry.
