Stephanie growled menacingly over Hussar, helping the knight keep her pinned down. She'd shifted into a more animal-like form to better dart between the combatants given her slightly injured leg.

She didn't bother to stop a glob of drool from landing on Hussar's face as she bared her teeth in warning.

While Melody may be largely immune to the effects of her bombs, her clothes weren't, and one can only ignore the rules of physics so much. The early-detonated bombs burned holes through her shirt and knocked her backwards into a tree. She leaned heavily on it for a few moments, seeing stars after her head slammed into the tree.

Finally clearing her head just as much of the invaders disappeared with one of her fellow students, she pushed herself forward unsteadily and formed two more bombs in each hand, her eyes full of malice and crackling energy, looking for any easy target to bombard.

The Shi'ar, though, didn't give them the chance to continue the fight. With their target in custody, the answer from their mothership came, and came quickly. One by one, the Imperial Guard were teleported out, those who were standing last, the dead and injured first, leaving only a quad full of battered and angry mutants.

Cassiel, without an enemy to take his rage out on, hovered in the air for a moment, then the glow began to fade. His psychic avatar receded to more normal levels as he buckled down the corners of his mind he'd tapped for the battle, and he sank to the ground, then to his knees, shuddering as he fought back to a more normal state of mind.

Ryan was still shaking from the landing a bit, but was obviously not going to let that stop him. "We don't have time to stand around talking about it," He said. "X-Men, if you're coming, gather up, if you're not, start helping get people to the infirmary."

Stephanie shifted back to her more humanoid form and looked between the assembling group around Cal, and those left behind, trying to decide where to go. On one hand she knew she wanted a second shot at fighting thise things...on the other hand, not everyone could just leave and let the school go almost completely unguarded. Seeing her friend Trev laying unconscious on the quad cemented her decision for now; she rushed over to him, becoming more human as she went, and checked his vitals. He was okay--just knocked out and with a nasty gash on his head from where he'd been clocked by the butt of an alien energy weapon.

"Teach those jerks a lesson guys," she called over to the group. "We'll keep things secure here."
