"Okay..." she says, still very much self-conscious but dives head-first into the water. Her shadow shoots past them under the water to the other end of the pool and... doesn't seem to come up again.

Of course, Kay entirely misses that while she's underwater and debating if she should come up or just swim underwater though that'd probably be pretty rude so she bobs up to the surface. She doesn't seem to be swimming so much as more floating in the water.
